It's a shame. They should be banned from the out of town building.

We're still can't get out & we really need to get some stuff in as it's supposed to snow again over New Year.

The road's now clear, but our track is a sheet of ice. Friend's reckon they can now get out, so I'll get picked up by them tomorrow or Wednesday hopefully, so I'll be able to get some stores in - cheapest Christmas ever! Starting to get low on sheep feed, although we've loads of hay.
I'm actually amazed how much stuff we have stored in the freezer & shed. I still have cabbages & carrots & leeks in the ground (and beetroot that I'd forgotten about until just now)- albeit frozen in, but I made a big pan of soup the other day. We ate a young cockerel, as he needed dispatching - that did us three days of big helpings. But we aren't getting any eggs - can't blame the poor hens for not laying.
The water's frozen, so a matter of getting it from the burn.
The sheeps' water is freezing up, so it's a matter of carrying water up there, slithering up the track a few times during the day & last thing at night. Not doing much at all apart from that.
Hope the going back to work goes okay.

I wouldn't say I'm coping well, just doing the bare necessities & feeling like I have caravan fever - getting a bit snappy - especially when OH said last night that he thinks we'll be in the caravan for another year yet - don't need to hear that right now.

The weather here is grim too, the roads last night were like sheets of glass and the car we were traveling in kept sliding about even though the driver was going at a sensible speed. I have been digging out the gardening books, seeds and planning sheets so that I can organise the planting for the year. I am determined to do better with my planting this year.

It's a week past Thursday since we were out in the car, but they don't seem to be putting much grit on the main roads & not really gritting the back roads here - from what I hear.
The night time temps have been -16 & during the day not getting up above freezing except for today when it did start to thaw a tiny bit, but not really shifting much at all.
I'm only needing to get out for animal feed & bits really, as it's supposed to get really bad with snow over New Year & the roads will get blocked totally then. Can't last through another week of not getting out.
They used to drop grit at driveways so you could grit your own tracks, but doesn't seem to happen now - another cut back.
