evening all and welcome to Itsmehonest.
although i lease my property [thankfully a long lease but renewable next year !] iv been told the "estate" is selling off various properties that are under thier belt... i can see thier point as the son is pulling the estate up by its socks to pay for restoration of BIG house which will then pay more as a venue. they had the big food and wine festival this year as a first attempt and got 17,000 in the gates [2day fest] it covered a vast area and was VERY good. they want to get weddings, music fests etc . iv been told my place is safe as its a gate house and cant be sold as its part of the heritage of the parkland or something like that ??? fingers crossed....
took albert to the vet for his 1st check up and the vet was SO pleased with him..no collar and no nibbling, he was amazed...i actually dont think alb realises hes a leg short !!
early start tomorow [hav to get animogs sorted before i leave for airport]0 -
Thanks for the welcome, alfie 1.
Is your estate the one populated by lots of lovely cars?
I've been catching up on poor albert & I am pleased to hear he's doing well.0 -

Ah, up there. We're in the middle, not far from the place on the Tarka Line where the token exchange takes place. This is an archaic system where the drivers of up & down trains meet & swap tokens, thus avoiding head-on accidents. However, it has been known for a token to be left behind at Crediton, necessitating a frantic car journey to the swap-over point! :rotfl:
Still, a relatively minor hiccup compared with hitting cows sheep or deer, all of which have happened in recent memory.0 -
Good evening
We are decorating at a furious paceonly been waiting three years for my OH to feel the urge and now we are focusing on getting the house sorted so that in the summer we can turn our full attention to getting the garden organised (weather permitting
).

That's just a few miles from me, so if anyone is heading there pop in for tea and cakes!
Yes folks, I'm still reading every day but don't feel I've got anything useful to contribute at the moment. Never fear, my turn will come..... eventually!Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -

I'm not sure I've anything useful to contribute either, but that's never stopped me! Good to hear you are still with us here anyway.
Mr Dog tried to fall out with us big-time today over our hedge tidying. I expected this would happen, even though we've left 50m of the hedge closest to him, respecting an earlier agreement. He doesn't actually share any hedge boundary with us at all, but whatever's given to people like him, it's never enough. He can now see some barns.
Interesting that although we've never mentioned his infernal dogs to him, more barking was what he threatened us with.
We tried to keep the situation focused on the hedge and explained as calmly as we could that the other hedges that abut his garden or within view are all cut tight and short......by his son, a local contractor!!!:rotfl:0 -
Still getting in touch with my feminine side. If this goes on I'll be growing flowers instead of veg
Just found out that one of Du Cros' swimsuits was modelled by Zena Marshall, Miss Taro in Dr No. Awake now Davesnave?:rotfl:
Managed to borrow a mannequin to model all the stuff DW bought, results can be a little too lifelike!! 30+ items now listed, a few bids would be nice
Have to say that Mr Dog sounds a right PITA.0 -

Actuallly I know where you mean. I've made many a journey on the Tarka line. I read that trains on the Line are due to get another carriage. I don't know what the world is coming to. There'll be tables next!
Incidentally, you don't think that maybe your Dog might be reading this thread, do you?0 -
Sorry to hear about your dog Alfie - hope he makes a good recovery.
Dave sorry about Mr Dog - difficult people are a bit of a problem for me & I try & avoid as they get reet up my nose.
