Maggie, I think Wowdaxue is a 'bot, because all their posts have been removed. ;)

And speaking of 'bots, I won't be here long because my 'puter will probably redirect soon, but lets just say it's got one of the cleverest bugs I've ever come across. BT, McAfee, Kapersky, and quite a few others have no solution, but a company with a free product, Malwarebytes are helping me. I know I could also get help on the techie forum here, and I might do that yet, but I'd prefer my non-techie nature not to be exposed for all to see!:rotfl:

Here on the smallholding the grass was topped yesterday, as we have one variety that grows very tussocky and the sheep don't touch it when it's mature. We look smart again now.

Great progress on your build kazchow!:)

Blue Aga eh? Lovely! Ours is plain beige and won't be going on till second week in November, which will be nice.:D Tank's full; the cost of that, not quite so nice! :(

And someone up there is having a larf. After buying lots of tom varieties in the seed sale, Doc on Friday says I shouldnt eat toms any more.

    Aaaagh!! Life without toms!! :eek::eek:

    Hi rhiwfield

Obviously do not know why toms are problem but do know that some people (particularly those with arthritis) find that the orange, yellow and white ones (and I suspect the green ones) are less of a problem.

hello to all, veteran and new..

i seem to have been on a "go slow" for too long now and the knock on effect of that being i dont have a lot of news...:(

the roads [cross roads] outside are now blocked off for two days for resurfacing work . i will see what i can scrounge needless to say !! [may need a little bit of tarmac/gravel for somewhere if i look hard enough:D]..keep the guys supplied with cuppas !:)

my fence across half the garden to seperate the chooks etc has failed [not structurally more me !] i left the gate open and ducks and goosegoggins headed for my pond and had a great time anhialating the duck weed then mowed my lawn, chooks hoovering up remnants from bird feeders...so i left em to it :D soft or what ....:o

had BIG load of wood delivered yesterday. stacked away this morning.

went to collect aga cooker id bought yesterday only to find it had no seperate isolater from the gas supply that we could find without turning off the whole house supply ?? they are getting in a gas man as we said we were not going to touch it !! IF they sort that then its a good buy BUT i need tips on dismanteling it !:D there is the silver "bits" on each corner of the top and if my memory serves me right these have to come out somehow and then it comes apart like a house of cards....but am i right ? :o
so instead we went round porchester castle..it was amazing ! so much of it still remains..i had my usual panic attack going up the steep stone spiral staircase but got over it..:)
i intended to do some tip runs today but have had "ill" son to mother and now a friend is calling in soon so will try for one run before the darkness descends !:D
its one of those days where all my good intentions are dwindling as the day goes on..:(
next monday im having my toof out at the hospital ...i am SUCH a wimp when it comes to the dentist !!

i am slowly gathering all the "bits" i need to refurbish my kitchen.. i have been given a big solid wood work surface with butlersink hole pre cut, 3 solid base units and 3 tall units that sit on a surface [sort of dresser effect], MAY have cooker [but have plan B] just need to sort the floor. would love terrocota tiles /slate type tiles/wood [not laminate] then when its a cold wet miserable week i will start and not stop till its all done !:D:D
my tomatoes are still producing,my honeysuckle is out? all my hanging baskets are having a 2nd wind? generally the garden is still blooming well.....:)

Just come back from work, another vintage fair tomorrow, so the van is all packed up and ready to go...

need to do some batch cooking this afternoon, Kids are on half term next week, so def need to get some meals in the freezer for htem.

on the final lap so to speak with the land...even though there are major problems going on with our factory landlord... we have decided to hell with it, and still carry on with the purchase of the land..

Sooooooooooooooo it will be EXTREMELY tight for the next year or so, as i have also got to pay back money i borrowed from my parents to go towards the deposit...and pay the mortgage on the land...

So i have set ourselves a very ... VERY tight budget....so whats new:rotfl:

somebody suggested that i planted variegated holly.. around or in parts of the boundering hedging/fgencing, so i could take a crop of holly to sell every year...

any ideas on where to buy, and a nice variety? plus do you know, or have you seen any being sold in the past, and what type of prices did it bring per bunch etc

Been cold here this week.... and even though it is warmer today, i am still flipping cold...

why variagated? I think dark plain is MUCH nicer...and I'm looking to buy a whole lot atm. I start usually by checking ashridge trees prices and work from there.

lol, the van wouldn't take long to get there, it was a painless journey on the train and the map suugests it would be not bad in a car. :) There is a proper antiques market too, but we didn't look at that one, because we'd been tortured enough. I've suggested daddy buy a coffee cup a week from the flea market til he come home as a way of marking the time as we need some coffee cups and I only really want mismatched OTT antique or vintage ones...to ''match'' the rest of our stuff :rotfl:

    Hope everyone's feeling better.

It didn't rain today! I think that hasn't happened since April...............

Had to go East - My the charity shops are sparse & expensive. Think they're having a struggle getting donations.

I would love to go to Brussels & round flea markets, I would love to go anywhere & go round flea markets.

Actually starting to think about a kitchen fit out, but can't afford anything. I think I'll try & get a 2nd hand carcasses & fit new doors that I can paint - quit elike painted/Shaker ish kitchens, but not really a fitted kitchen sorta gal really. I do have a mahogony bookcase unit thing I was given ages ago that has glazed upper cupboards as well as drawers & cupboards beneath - I might paint that....? Any thoughts appreciated - haven't got inner walls yet, but getting thinking about it.

Was in a very pooooooosh kitchen shop today (one where the guy looked at us as if we were apparitions in his nightmare) very nice looking very shiny kitchen ....I couldn't quite work out if they'd got the comma in the wrong place in the price & then realised that was just for the lower inits without sink & taps nor work top - how do people afford these things. Thing is it was very plasticky.

It's come weirdly mild & I'm sitting here sweating after last weeks snow.

Ebay wasn't too rewarding this past week - seems very slow.

I think its a sort of an electronic poster,....not a real person?

choille, re kitchens....I don't know if any of your wonderful chippies would do it as a project for you after the house is done? IMO, soft wood built for the space would be better than any fitted kitchen....and some of the fancy hard wood ones would buy another small house . The loveliest kitchen I had was just a crude pine carcass with flat pine doors, only bottom cupboards, a few shelves above, built proibably by someone in the fifties from the look of it and painted several different colours over the years. Simple, fitted the space, non standard sized units that worked for a real person with real things...not those very deep cupboards that a normal housewife can't reach the back of. The kitchen I had would probably be done in a long day, or a weekend, and painted by you...though, I wouldn't opt for the melamine work surfaces. Tiles, though need a scrubbing once a week and need something to rollout over instead of using the work surface direct, are very beautiful and cheaper than any of the mordern work tops.

Alfie, your kitchen is divine!! And...how DO you find these bargains.....I'd give storage space to a £33 quid aga till the kitchen is ready for it!

Oh, and I have to start keeping my eye out for some fireplace tools. typically I like expensive brass ones the best, but atm anything would be better than using a bit of wood or handy stick as I did all last winter...:o I'm going to have to start carbooting or something.
