Meanwhile, not as exciting as kazschow or choille's progress recently...but our planning apps are in. :) we've opted to make an application for everything we plant to do to the house over the years in one swoop. The barns/agriculture/equestrian/business developement though we're approaching differently, one building first, then a pause. One building is all we can afford an we think the change in planning in the pipelines will make the rest follow through more simply than undet the current system. Nothing is controversial though!

Well no purse been handed in so I'm a bit sickened. Pretty sure I know wher it went & thought someone would pocket the cash & dump the purse & cards.
Having not too bad a day weather wise after yesterday's deluge, but can't seem to get going today.
Still annoyed at the purse & all.
choille....sorry to hear about your purse. i know exactly how you feel re loss of purse...its amazing what you realise was in it....[sorry not helping !] i "lost" mine last year, everyone thought id dropped it in the tip but i knew it was in my van and a Tleaf was at large...proved right when my purse turned up THIS year out on the forest and an HONEST person handed it in ...albeit not a lot left after the winter..
but dont give up yet...you just may remember exactly where it might be. cancel cards and did you have your driving liscence in it ? i claimed for the money and any replacement costs from my contents insurance.

I hope the purse turns up, choille. Sometimes, things work out in the end. I am getting worse at leaving things about and worry that I might be going the same way as my Dad. He lost stuff regularly in his later years, but having a charmed life, wallets, keys, walking sticks etc always returned or were there in shops waiting for him to claim them. :)

My favourite trick is seeing my credit cards and thinking "Ooops., I'd better put these in a safe place....." You can guess the rest! :o

We had a bit of a heavy day yesterday, leaving here before 8am and not returning till after midnight on a mission to see the EA about our old garden, and then to demolish the 25' greenhouse on it. We couldn't have managed the job without support from the Outlaws, but the objective was achieved and 95% of the building is now here in Devon, awaiting 're-processing.' There's no way it will ever be a greenhouse again. Being around 40-50 years old, it was at the end of its life. I refurbished it about 23 years ago, so it did well really.

A quiet day today, I hope.....;)

This weather is frankly unnerving me. The wind, this morning had spun round to come from north east. This afternoon its from se. Its been a heavy, heavy day, not hot (in fact I'm in winter clothes) but still heavy. this bloody wind hasn't let up ...if it hadn't threatened to rain (empty promises) I could have done a whole load of washing.

I'm not terribly well today, so nothing done in this weird weather. Tomorrow its meant to rain, but if it doesn't I plan to fix wires on the fence of the red garden.

Hope you are feeling better today. :)

Yesterday it was a fairly decent day here, without the wind that has marred outdoor life here for many weeks. Indeed, I think we've had three calmish days in a row now.

About two weeks ago, we had a weird wind experience on a relatively quiet but warm morning while just standing on our lawn chatting. Suddenly, we found ourselves in the middle of a mini whirlwind, with leaves and other little bits of debris whizzing around us. In 10-15 seconds it was over.

It's a bit mixed out there today, but a load of chicken food has just fallen off a lorry again :D, so I must get it into storage! One of the bags seems to be squashed dried peas. Do you think chooks could have that, or would it give them wind?

We are now feeding the wild birds chick crumbs and the crows are well confused by the curtain system. :)

Try'em with a handful of the peas. Tell me what they think. :)

I've got to find organic suppliers of chick food now. :( stupid chooks. I have a terrible feeling I might have to seriously supplement with straights, so will have to read up on chicken nutrition and seasonal implications. :(

Its a bit quieter wind out there today. but calm it couldn't be described as, the willows are waving vigorously rather than thrashing.

Feeling a bit better. depleted though. :) Have done first row of fixings or the wires, having a break. will do next row in a bit. :) One step at a time, :)

The weather's not normal at all this year. We had a reasonable evening, punctuated by a heavy shower or two, but it turned really cold again. Hot water bottle weather....and almost Mid-summer.

We had a meeting with the chap who is trying to sort out the problem of crows attacking the barn-dwellers rubbish sacks. He can see that we might not want big wheelie bin things stuck outside our main entrance, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.:( For our part, we're pleased that we have three entrances and the ability to alter things, should we decide to. ;)

Had a very satisfying bonfire tonight. In other news, I also ate another of the Real Seeds extra early tomatoes and concluded that they are really nice, if a tad thick in the skin department.

    Where's everyone else, I wonder? :)
