I don't! The polytunnel foundation holes I'm doing next are the ones on the spring line, and they were 4" deep in water yesterday.
Still, it was good to see some 'proper' rain, even if it meant I had to do the shopping for the week.
According to the Met Office, you may have some more on Thursday.:)0 -

Just dug over the compost: dry as a bone am inch or so in: despite at least 24 hours of reasonable rain.
weather reposts are really changing...friday and the weekends were set to be dry here, and then yesterday the whole week was to be wet, now you've checked and its thurs next. Still, what we've had, a few days of a break then more on thurs would be very, very good for the garden.0 -
Well we had a deluge yesterday. The rain barrel got filled to the brim, I took off 2 regular buckets (are they 20l?), a watering can (10l) and my trug (I think that's 50l, it's pretty large anyway) - and the barrel filled to just under the inlet tap again. OH thought I was daft taking that extra water off given the forecast for later in the week, but I am thinking of the forecast for later in the summer and how much water we've used so far this year in the garden. But I think he's coming around to a large watrebarrel on the side of the house from the main roof downpipe (or at least a second one out the back).
Will be eating broad beans this week though!! Only a few to start, but the ones in the garden are starting to droop downwards. I need those to crop soon anyway, so that the calabrese between them (just one) can get going.
And I have a "home alone" weekend coming up, so although I have a drinks thing on Friday night, I will spend Saturday and half of Sunday sewing. I should finally get some stock made for car-booting next month!!GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
GC 2011:Overall Target: €6,000/ €5,442 by October
Back on the wagon again in 2014

Out cleaning those hives today, and amazingingly they were full of bees.....having checked carefully there is no queen, so its just every bee in the locality coming to pinch any of the good stuff left for their own hives. Gave us a bit of a shock though: hilarious if bees had just ''found us''0

EVENING FOLKS
my weekend started with a bonfire and ended with one !!:)
BF was in seventh heavon throwing my "scrap!"from the sheds etc on the fire.....:rotfl:
i was impressed with MYSELF for letting it go... mind you if i dithered he burnt itbut im pleased to say i can now stand at my gate and actually "see" my shed in the wood now !!:T i have a small pile of non burnables to take to the tip.
yesterday it rained non stop.... and the wind blew non stop.... so we sat in doors ,lit the fire ,chocolate [having sorted animogs] and remained all day looking out ! saw the grand prix which TOOK FOREVER.... it was actually hilarious watching the commentators try and "fill" 2 hours with "interesting" chat....NOT !! were reduced to identifying various wild birds in the end....:) still button deserved his win.
in the winds last night more of the big oak tree split and fell:(...am very woried re the rest of tree as it is breaking off randomly, and with plenty of green leaf, appears dying in the centre of the branches ???? will get it sorted anyway asap...
iv moved my chooks out of the greenhouse just incase the biggest branch comes down...

Sure she's from Northern Ireland with that accent.
Dave sorry about the hen. We have Ole custard bot hen to be giving too much detail. I've tried worming her - thing is she seems to be okayish but all hunched up too............Can't really let her go on much longer really. I think she may be a lot older than we were lead to believe.
Well what a croip day today - snow on the Ben over on the \East & torrential rain here. Lost my purse, retraced my steps - nothing. Feel sickened.
Also got my first neg feedback on ebay for something that I sold for 99p that wasn't the item I described according to the buyer - I had a clear photo of it & they reckon it was not the Tower that I thought it was - geeeeeeeeeeeee am I cross bunny tonight.
Good to hear of your clear out Alfie - always satisfying I think. We are supposed to get a hot day tomorrow - weather is quite mad.
Anyone watch Springwatch & see the poor birds down South struggling to get worms to feed their young? Terrribly sad stuff.0 -
hi folks, just a wee quickie update
We moved down to our farm today, and the builders came on site with machinery yesterday, and at 6.30 am we were awakened to the sound of the digger starting to dig the founds for the nerw house!! it's all getting really real now, it's been so long in the planning it seems almost surreal now!!!
I'll try and get some pics, and upload them, but we have no power in our van, and only one of these dongle things for the internet, bit of a change from the civilisation we lived in up til sunday, but her what doesn't klill you makes you stronger aas they say hehehehe0 -

Wait till you have mud too ;0)
Get LOTS of pics as it goes on, more than you think and of everything, every inch. Its amazing how many areas of supposed lack of interest between features we've missed snapping, then when we are thinking about it and not wanting to run out side its hard to picture. (in fact we have a digital survey that we use, but would be nice to have a ''proper'' pic too).0 -
Well no purse been handed in so I'm a bit sickened. Pretty sure I know wher it went & thought someone would pocket the cash & dump the purse & cards.
Having not too bad a day weather wise after yesterday's deluge, but can't seem to get going today.
Still annoyed at the purse & all.0 -
How awful.
The spare parts for the first hive come today (he reckons he's making the rest for the other hive....) so we're ready to roll with bees now.0
