    morning all...

iv just taken georgie my cat to the vet to have her eye removed :(
she had a scratch that would not heal properly and its best for her...

im sat here with my "babies" causing havoc running round the lounge!! just learnt how to bungy [without a bungy!] off the back of the sofa.... LIR and CTC i will try [im not good at this] and send a short video....but dont hold your breath !!:)

im being a bit lazy today as i have a busy rest of the week:(

for DAVESNAVE AND MRS DAVESNAVE i got very despondant with this place 2 years in... and i dont have the business side of worry here... i literally sat back and said " would i be happy in a box house with all mod cons and no character??" the answer was NO :)
i listened when people said to me how lucky i was to live here, and i used to mutter to myself that THEY didnt have to turn on a genny every day, they didnt have to try and hack a path to get from A to B.... BUT they didnt wake up to birds singing, trees blossoming and fresh air !! so i soon pulled myself together and learnt to savour each moment, good or bad, and im so glad i did :):):)

    I've been Money Tipped!
good luck for George. She'll feel better without it I think, and the risk of anything nasty festering in there gone.

    P.S. i THINK i may err towards being a flibbertijibbett !! :rotfl:

i try to start and finnish a job but always seem to get side tracked by something i espy en route to job 1. then i think "oh i will just do this/that " enroute to job 2. i do get it all done but not necesarilly in a rational order....its an age thing i tell myself....do it while i can still remember HOW to do it :o ....

i wish i could invite you all to a big shindig that would take your minds/worries away for a day or so.... if anyone feels like its getting to breaking point you are welcome [you cant possibly be more nuts than me!!:D] i think we are all so desperate for spring time that its a bit overwelming when it arrives... every thing grows/moves faster than us and its like playing catch up.... but remind yourselves it will settle down by summer and we can all enjoy the rewards of our spring flurry.:)

Woken by the alarm at 4am this morning as OH is on earlies this week. He finishes at 1pm, so we might go to the garden then and he can have a snooze in the house. Bought a couple of cheap camp beds from Aldi for such an occurrence.

Yesterday OH finished clearing part of the bed by the shed for a red and black currant to go in, and finally managed to plant them. They'd been languishing in a flower bed and despite the pots being dug in they kept blowing over. So am very glad to see them planted. But neglected to take a photo of them in situ. :o Maybe today.

First clematis flower of the year just opening. :j Azalea is going over though. I thought it was finished last week, but when I looked closer at it the flowers were just drooping. OH put the hose on it for a couple of hours, and it perked up almost immediately so we've had the enjoyment of its flowers for another week.

Did a bit of pruning of the quince in the front. I'm sure it's the wrong time of year, but it's going berserk and will take over the front garden completely if I don't take off some of it! So far have only done part of one side, it will take me several days to get it all done as I can't stand for long. Might take a chair out there today and see if I can get rather more done in a session. Or maybe not as it's just started raining after a really gorgeous dawn and early morning.

Found almost a whole row of volunteer spuds! I thought at the time that OH hadn't done a very good job of getting them all up!

And there's yet more in the main veggie bed too!

Bit disappointed this morning as postie knocked with a parcel that proved to be my spuds from T&M. Supposed to be half Vales Emerald and half Blue Danube, but they've just sent 4 bags of Vales Emerald. Oh well, guess they must have run out of the Blue Danube, but wish they'd at least asked.

Earlier parcel post was much more satisfactory. Dress to wear at DD1's wedding the end of this month. It fits (had to return first one as too small - always hard to know size when buying online) and I love it. Very pleased with the speed that Sahara got the replacement to me. If you want a nosey at the dress it's the floral print linen sundress. Am now considering whether it might be a good idea to have a jacket to go over it, can be chilly in May! Wedding is at the London Wetlands Centre, but sadly I won't be doing the guided walk afterwards as will have to preserve my energy for the rest of the day.

Just a quick question to close with. Have this yellow flower growing by the patio, suspect it's a weed. Any idea what? It has burr like seeds I remember from last year. I rather like it, so won't be getting rid unless its something noxious. ;)

Think I can answer my own question after googling images of yellow flower weed burr seed. Looks as if it's Wood Avens. According to Wikipedia it has the power to drive away evil spirits, so I think I shall keep it. Oh, and you can use it to make coffee with dandelion roots too!
