CTC, so sorry about the idiot thief, but at times you have to sit back and reflect whats important, if you have your health, and a loving partner, you're doing better than many. Having said that, hope they throw the book at him! (the thief, not your partner :o)

Poo, apple trees are on average 4 years old and all fruiting, more each year. Store lasted til Feb this year, hope for more this winter. And horseflies have a similar effect on me, enough to put me out of action for a couple of days :(. On prescription to counter symptoms.

Alfie/Lir, horses seem an awful lot of work!

And Alfie, having just recovered from messing up my back from roofing this, you have my every sympathy.

Oh, and dentist today took 5 mins, no extractions, fillings, root canals :T:T:T

hubby said can you stop posting pics as he's fed up with me pointing out his inadequacies in providing me with good sturdy and tidy garden structures :D

He dumped our logs at the bottom of the garden in 1 big pile next to my wildlife pond and stumpery and put tarpaulin over it!

CTC - really sorry about your troubles. That's a thing that we are pretty lucky with, not much thieving here - although it does happen, not too much. Hope things ease off a lot for you soon.

LIR - What are cattle fly tags? Not heard of them before. I find Spot On keeps flies off & if they get bad then a smear of Sudocreme does help.

Had a sheep session this morning - worming, feet & ear tagging the ones without as got told the other week that now can be fined £1,000 @ sheep for not having an ear tag in. Two sheep evaded capture so that'll be the morning's task - all but the two are now out on the lower apportionment.
When we went to Skye last Thurs bought a howker thing in a 2nd hand place - brilliant for whippingthe heads of the emerging braken - great fun, but after a couple of hours the novelty & my back gave up.
Open day at the big hoose garden this afternoon so went & saw folks we haven't seen since - ages. Got a tiger bamboo from the gardener. I have been assured that it isn't invasive - well not toooooooo invasive.
Feel really tired - that cold thing was quite a thing & feel still jiggered.

Hi Choille, I know what you mean about tired and cold. I swear sometimes I should hibernate come winter and not wake up till end of April!

I've been feeling very tired recently and I've been cold as well. Not just at home but in the car as it's well nippy in the early morning and my car heater has broken. At work a couple of the women and one bloke seem to be always hot and insist on opening the windows and turning down the temp on the air conditioning, thing is, they sit far enough away from the windows for the draft not to hit them. Then my house is not too hot at any time even on the hottest summers day!

It does wear you down, being cold.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now, have a good day tomorrow all.
