I am so keen to get the garden painted but I need to decide on a colour scheme first! I really want my back garden to be a pretty entertaining space as we use the side for all our fruit and veg. Been looking at lots of different paints.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

grrr..paint colours are a real saga here. I think we're going for yellow in the courtyard (not my first choice) and greyish green on end walls and garden walls. I really wanted something quite dramatic but now is not the time I think.:o0 -
didnt people used to dry out cow pats to burn as fuel?
LIR..... i think that poo picker is a great idea.... even though it seems expensive, but the time it will save you will be priceless

It has turned out to be a really sunny day today and I managed to get some fruit bushes planted and some pruning done! Ground still too wet to do a lot of the things I need to get finished but it was nice to get something done!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

How many do you want to hatch? How reliable are your girls? I know we all recoomend the octagon model, but I'm doing both right now....I always think its nice for a broody to rear some....for her and for them...its how its meant to be
I did do something.....I sifted a coupleof wheel barrows full of soil.I want a cylinder sieve.

Hi - I am thinking of buying a silkie as they are reputed to be broodies.
I didn't hatch any chicks last year - or rather the hens didn't but it was a pretty rotten Summer here.
I've never used a broodie. Hens have gone broody in the past - laid up somewhere secret & then appeared back with a string of chicks. Although I have lost hens to the Marten that way.
Good for you sifting soil - I've done plenty of that - good for those bingo wings! I've got a nice old riddle/sieve.0
