Pain with the wheelbarrow - annoying.

We have a dusting of snow & ice - it's really cold & a stiff, Artic breeze.

Beginning of round two do you think?

I'll have to get another tyre and another wheelbarrow I think. My two wheeled barrow needs tyres inflating an is great for the yard but useless over wet ground.

wind is fantastic...keeping the ground relatively dry....yippee. sadly its started to drizzle yuck. Found things all over the place this morning because of the wind though. And I have punctured the wheelbarrow tyre. Grrrr.

My local garage puts trailer tyres on wheelbarrows rather than repair the flimsy tyres they come with now. I think they charge around £18.

B&Q sell a puncture-proof tyre, but it isn't cheap either and it doesn't fit all barrows.

Unusually, we've not had the wind here, but the rain is with us and everything more than a mile away has disappeared.

We haven't registered this holding, though we both have a personal identification number with the Rural Payments Agency. Pete says he's taking care of the paperwork for the sheep.

We weren't having anything to do with the 'authorities' until we'd sorted out our garden boundaries. Technically, we have a tiny garden and the rest is fields, but the previous owner created a market garden years ago, and now, nobody can really tell where the boundaries of that were. Happily, where they are now seems to coincide exactly with what we want! :)

Its hail and driving rain now. There go dry fields:(

Just been out and the wretches had dived through the electric too to the grassier side (that we don't want to reseed..they are on a bit of a bare patch now :() and th battery has run out...so though I've moved them I bet they'll be back within the hour. :(

Had a lame chicken yesterday but that's cleared up. But now special orse has a HUGE swelling/lump on her belly. Its not causing her pain, so I'm going to ignore it. Chances of breeding from her have plummeted though :(:( I wonder how much I could pick up a nice yearling of the type I want for....

It'll be round three for us & that's not counting the snow we had in October. I'm fed up with it now although it's early & last Winter went on for months. Makes it crucial for me that we're out of this caravan this year as I've lost tolerance of it.

I'm cowering indoors as it's too freezing & wet to do owt outdoors really.

I am not sure if that is the case or not, not sure if it is applicable to 'old stock'.
Well it is the case, "old stock" has nothing to do with it.

It is not much for a yearling but I guess it depends exactly what you are looking for?

is it possible to fill the tyres with that pump in stuff that is available when you have a puncture?? i only use barrows with solid tyres now, got fed up with virtually doing a head stand with a full [heavy] barrow when getting a puncture whilst getting up speed !!!

i am miffed !! an old lady that i do odd jobs for has a skip outside her wall ,used for a refurb next to her, i eyed up various bits of wood and some wall brackets. i thought id do the work for her then dive into skip! i looked out of her window only to see the skip rising up over wall height and being carted off by a lorry!! i could have screamed but thats life....bu***r !!
