Quick question off topic, do Sky still charge you £10 extra a month if you have Sky+ and aren't on the full package?0
-
No they've scrapped this charge now.0
-
Wkdwill, what may happen is that Sky will phone you within the next month to find out why you're leaving and offer you everything to keep you as a customer, they're actually very good at retention offers. It's up to you as to whether you want to take the risk or not.0

I have just (literally 20 mins ago) sold my desk and as soon as the buyer collects will have a bit of spare money and have had a thought, if I can get Sky+ cheaper than the £99 plus £60 installation, then when they come to install it they will have to do something with the dish anyway and might aswell reallign it while they are at it, then that way we can have the dish sorted but still get something out of it.
If they still charged the £10 extra a month then I wouldn't do it as I intend to reduce the package as soon as the sports DH watches have finished, but ive always liked Sky+ as we had it at a previous address but the landlord took it over when we left.
Do you think this is likely, im still going to let DH have a go at the dish tonight though.0 -
you can't record with sky+ unless you pay the £100

Having re-read your orignal post, I don't think, unless your husband can fix it on his ladder, you're going to get a better deal to fix it than 15 pounds from Sky. Even a local handyman with a ladder is going to want 20 pounds?
Your idea of taking Sky+ (box, installation and subscription) just to save 15 pounds one off (that's assuming he will fix it for free while he's there) is the economics of the madhouse...first year cost will be 279 pounds for Sky+!No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you want free warranty, why not cancel your account and set up a new one. In this way, you are a new account customer and you are covered for another 12 months with a new box etc0

Sorry but if he were my husband he'd be the one footing the bill for SKY engineer call out. Sounds like you're the one making all the effort to cut back and if he wants to watch his beloved sport, he should dip his hand in his pocket to get it sorted. Sounds like one way traffic. Why? Its either spend £46 a month so my husband can watch rugby at home or not spend it and have husband go to pub every time rubgy is on, which also means he spends on pints and comes home drunk at silly o'clock.
I have to make up for husbands spending by cutting down on other things, having Sky at £46 a month is by far the cheapest option. I have tried to get it cheaper but Sky dont give a rats a** about existing customers.0 -
