soappie it's so scary how that terrible illness effects people, hopefully SS might be called in at the hospital and suggest things to make life easier. There are alarms which you can get which go off when the person (they are sold as child alarms) goes too far.
rach how lovely to get flowers
mumoffour how is your DS?
LG hope you find your energy soon, wherever it's hiding
carol22 congratulations
g&b thinking of you all x
Dusty well done to your DS. No I'm on AOL but supposedly it's something to do with the phone lines, they've been working them again today
embb enjoy your new towels, I must admit I have an old one I love, it's so awfully tatty and rough but I like that
Triker that sounds ever so painful, hope he's feeling better
Summermoon, sorry to hear your DH is being made redundant. With the dog possibly looking for attention. Have you tried leaving him with the run of the house? My dog behaves better when he's allowed to roam free in the house, if I locked him in one room he'd try to escape, he'd damage things etc. Suppose until you returned to work Max also had all yoru attention, so you need to wean him off that. It's not natrually being naughty, just reacting to what we teach them. Crate training might be an option, unfortunately he's still a baby so needs you to be patient with him for quite some time yet if he's only 6 months. If he's actually eating everything, not just destroying it you mgith be worth increasing his food. Dirty nappies if using disposables can go straight in the bin outside which of course stops the house smelling too.
3tabbycats, my Gran used to use her denture tablets on whites. Problem might be more due to age than dirtiness
emily hope your Mum finds something which she would like to do instead
Sorry didn't read as much as I wanted, eyes too tired. Hugs to all who need/would like one! Crazy day again today, meetings then DP dragged me out to look at caravans again. He's determined to get a one with a fixed bed...driving me nuts. I did the boys rooms in the space of time I had rather than my room which will take hoursOne day I might be more organised...........

greenbee what's the news on your 'nice' collegue at work
:D...
I think everything's going to be back to normal again... I haven't talked to him about it, but we've been working together OK this week. We no longer have the same boss, as (temporarily at least), our team has been split while my boss is off sick. With everything else going on I haven't really had time to think about it!
MoF77 - so sorry to hear about your DS. I hope you all get the support you need and he isn't too upset by it all.
GnB - hugs for you and for LO. Try not to worry about the germs. I'm sure your Dad will have washed his hands - just remind everyone gently about the need to wash hands frequently, particularly around LO as she's vulnerable.
My dad is still here - the house is a tip - and I'm finding the whole thing of having to produce proper meals every day after having been at work VERY hard work! However, the utility room is nearly done (the floor is spotless, and has now been oiled and half of it is grouted), the garden is fenced, the airbrick in the attic is netted and he's done something to the stairs as the creaking was annoying him  . He's off tomorrow (after he finishes the grouting), so I'll be either flying hard or collapsing when I get back from work tomorrow. Lots to catch up on over the weekend...
... positive vibes heading out to all in flylady land... see you tomorrow!0 -
I have washed, dried and put away tea dishes(with OH's help!!!) and that is about it, off to bed now, so will catch you in the morning..............
please, when I get on in the morning some one give me a swift kick, good night.............0 -
I did Friday's list on Wednesday when it was Thursday's........:D Anyway, Toots, Friday complete.0

Article in the local paper:
Skip -The Thoughtful Husband...
It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes
harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they
were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are
overly-sensitive, and there's nothing worse than an overly-sensitive woman.
My name is Skip. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife,
Bonnie. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary
for Bonnie to get a full-time job along with her part-time job, both
for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.
Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show
her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she
gets home from work and although she knows how hungry I am, she almost
always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts
dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and
just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in
the Men's Grill at the club so, frankly, eating out twice is not reasonable. I'm
ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door.
She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it's not
unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner. I do
what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening
that they won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as
it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.
Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example she will
say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills
during her lunch hour at work. But, boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so i just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two
or even three days. That way she won't have to rush so much. I also
remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her
any (if you know what I mean). I like to think tact is one of my strong
points.
When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods.
She had to take a break, the other day, when she was only half finished mowing the lawn.
I tried not to make a scene. I'm a fair man. I told her to fix herself a
nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a
while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well
make one for me too.
I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Bonnie,
I'm not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men
will find it difficult. Some will even find it impossible! Nobody knows
better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older.
However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism
of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing
it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each
other.
Signed,
Skip
EDITOR'S NOTE:
Skip died suddenly of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was
found with a Callaway extra long 55-inch Big Bertha Driver golf club
jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing and a sledge
hammer laying nearby. His wife Bonnie was arrested and charged with
murder. The all-woman jury took only 15 minutes to find her Not Guilty,
accepting her defense that Skip somehow, without looking, accidentally sat
down on his golf club.

Hope everyone is well & welcome newbies/returners. Toots, I'm really glad that you're doing well. I've been thinking of you. Also, hugs for anyone who's been affected by redundancy recently. My Mum got the bad news yesterday that She's being made redundant after over ten years of doing her paper round (she delivers the local free paper). She doesn't need the money but as my dad works full-time she sees it as a way of getting out of the house, so she was upset yesterday when I saw her.
I'm late starting my list today but I've been busy doing lots of errands
