Morning all
One load of washing out on the line, it's breezy but can't make up its mind whether to be sunny or cloudy. As long as it's not raining!
DH has gone fishing for the weekend so it's just me, two cats and a senile dog again.
Everything tidied up and washed up etc. S&Ss done. I've just gone through my paperwork and it's all sorted. Carrier bag full of shredding done.
Indoor bins emptied.
My water bill was about £20 higher this year btw.
Haven't really caught up on stuff yet, back later:)
Emily - just read your post about Comic ReliefI've got stuff that I can't let go of from my childhood. I wish I could forget it but there you go. I'm glad you felt about to tell us about it, it's good to get to know you. Your DH sounds lovely.

Gratefulfor help sorry to hear of your dog.
Toots all lists are now done took 2 of us 4 hours so that is 8 hours in total all wonderful and clean.:j :j :j
Update on visitors:- OH has said after I was about to rush out to get more food, he would take them (me included) to the pub for lunch, so that has solved that one. PLUS he went into to town to the WI Saturday market stall and bought 2 cakes for later on:T :T
I don't mind his family coming to my house at all. but not to be told at 6am when it now seems he has known since Monday!! anyway ETA 2pm. (We had a 'little' chat about it, and I 'think' the message has got through)
Going to spendthe next hour scanning photos of my great grandparents / family etc ready for my father's 75th, came up with the idea to take lappy with me and slideshow them!! saves a load of bother of printing them all out,I have also sent 'word out' via various family members that if they want a copy of any of them to bring a memory stick or disk with them and I will download on to it for them. (job done!)
Before I forget, I have to open my NEW packet of pegs today to double peg stuff on the line as it is blowing a gale here, well blustery, I have pink and blue pegs this time!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi,
hope everyone is well & welcome newbies/returners. Thanks for all the lovely messages & helping me to remember that I've got a great husband. My husabnd & I had been together for 4 years before we moved in together & were also planning to do it & then get married, but it was a big step for me to leave home as I'd lived with my parents since birth. Anyway, after a particularly violent incident, where my dad hit me in the head & stomach, I decided to move out. I never really feel comfortable talking to my dad about his agression & I don't feel like it gets me anywhere because he always apologises & it always happens again anyway. So when I told him & my mum I was moving out, he got very upset, saying that he felt that people should only move in together after they got married. I explained that our plan was to marry after a short period of living togther, but that we wanted to live together first as we felt that this was the right thing for our relationship, & we did marry less than a year after we moved in together. He still didn't agree, & was very childish when I moved out, refusing to be there on the day & when I asked him if we could have some wardorbes that he was chucking out, his response was a huffy "I'll think about it". I thought, oh just don't bother then, if you're going to be like that. Anyway, because of the whole situation my husband stopped speaking to my dad for a long time, & only started again becuase I begged him to because it was upsetting me, although I understood why he was so upset.
My husband & my dad now speak but I know that deep down my husband doesn't like my dad & I respect him for his views that violence is unacceptable & I agree. My mum also is a victim of my dad's fists & suffers from anxiety (in my opinion worse than mine, maybe because she still lives with him). This also upsets my husband because he likes my mum. you can tell that my dad is scared of my husband because he acts differently in front of him; he'd never dream of hitting me or my mum in front of him. Anyway, I'm going to try really hard not to let my dad's behaviour upset me for the rest of my life. I'm waiting for counselling on the NHS, but it takes ages.
I've made my own wonderful weekend list
