Personally, I would use Frontline rather than Combo and use a good household spray such as RIP Fleas or Acclaim. the whole point of Frontline was that it didn't have an old fashioned insecticide in, Combo does. I can't get the logic and because of that, we don't sell Combo at all.

Frontline works for me, I can get it from Nutrecare cheap, when I got some from the Vets the other day for the Mog I just asked for Frontline & it was normal not Combo & they didn't seem to have any other types there, so maybe they're the same. I was always too scared to use the household spray as I kept Rats & yanno how they can be with Resp problems, but I don't have them now, so assume it's ok to spray in the room we're in (Me/Cat/Dog) as we don't have a big place to escape to another room! I'll ask the Vet on Wednesday when Mogs has her Dental about if they sell those brands of house sprays, ty!

But you would really only need to spray if you ever get an infestation of fleas and although cat fleas are meant to be everywhere I know that in 17 years of having a cat we found fleas on him and therefore the house TWICE. Surely if you are using a modern effective flea treatment monthly, the risk of a flea infestation is very low?

As for the house spray - you only need to do it once a year so a good summers day - get the rats outside in their cages and give the room a good spray. Few hours later they should be fine. I sprayed the house when I had tropical fish and rats - nothing got sick

lol if I left them outside they'd probs have got nicked, plus their cage is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to big (5ft 4 & about 3ft x 3ft base) to have gone out) not got them now tho so it's just me & the Dog to suffer any fumes lol the Cat can go off out

You wouldnt notice the fumes, I find fly spray to be more of a problem (which is now banned from the house after hearing of dogs being badly effected by fly sprays)

The modern house sprays are very good and much safer than they used to be. They should last a year so pick a nice day, move any animals out of the way for a few hours and spray away. Air the house through and it should be nice and safe. Better than insecticides on your pets. Frontline is not toxic to mammals and should be safe but the other part in Combo, I am not convinced about.

So not even vets are convinced.

Wow I didn't realise that, thanks, I think maybe i'll buy Combo when she goes in for her Spay/Tumour Op then unless the Cats dental leaves me any change on Wednesday! Thanks for letting me know that x

I didn't know that either. Once I've used up the current supply, I think I'll change to ordinary Frontline.

I've just done a comparison between Nutrecare and Petmeds.co.uk for Frontline (ordinary) - and including delivery, Nutrecare would come out at £24.18 (6 pipettes of 10-20kg), while Petmeds.co.uk would be £22.86 (which is actually free delivery). Also, if you go through Quidco to Petmeds.co.uk, you get a further discount - and Petmeds usually pay up pretty promptly.

However, Petmeds.co.uk are listed on Quidco, so I'd get a discount from that - and Petmeds.co.uk always pay up pretty promptly.

Wow thanks i'll look up Quidco now, I get lots of Pet stuff online, food & wormers & flea treatments mostly but also dental products & so on x
