It's amazing what a few words can do for you isn't it? :)

I wouldn't be able to put it better myself SS. The kindness of strangers has immense power. IT never seizes to amaze me how people take the time to lend a hand on here. It really is very humbling :o

Hello D&DD :D I took your advice and opened a bottle of wine tonight. What's the point of saving them eh.....

Ickle cakes are great as long as I only eat them one at a time :rotfl:

It's really good of you to go to the trouble of looking for recipes for me. I am very grateful :o

    Hello fellow MSErs

Things have been going OK since my bleep of confidence on Monday. I am back on track penny pinching and working towards creating a budget for myself.

I need to ask your advice please as I really don't know what to do :o

Recently I opened a new A&L bank account and they gave me a £1,300 OD which is 0% interest for a year. Using this OD, I paid off my part of the joint Barclays account OD - £1,274.49. This means I owe Barclays nothing now :T (OH is looking to transfer his half onto a 0% CC)

This means I have 2 0% interest balances - A&L and my Halifax CC (£2,415). The CC is 0% until July 06. Which balance do I pay off first? I have 4 paychecks between now and the end of 0% for the CC. Should I pay off as much off the CC as I can or pay off as much as I can off the A&L account and then use the A&L OD to pay a chunk off the CC and get another CC for a BT?

I hope that made sense :o

I also have a Barclaycard with £9,000 limit, 12.9% APR which I don't use. Should I close the account or keep it in case they have a low interest BT offer around July?

I hope you have some suggestions as I am really confused!

    Thanks again everyone :)

Pay off the credit card first mooz as this will start incurring interest the soonest! :D

Regarding the Barclaycard (I'm basing this on you NOT being able to clear the balance of the Halifax card beofre interest incurs) I would personally hang on to it but only until June. Then before the Halifax CC starts charging interest phone them up and see what they can offer you for transferring!

If they offer you nothing decent or you can clear the Halifax CC by the time interest incurs then cancel it. Will make your credit record look better! :D

    Thank you southernscouser :T

You make it all so simple! I'm just not sure whther I should go for a Barclaycard offer or apply for a 0% CC as I don't think I will have cleared the Halifax CC by July. I'd love to but I won't be able to :o

I was looking for genuine advice, not consolidation :(

I think that post falls under spamming
