Due to the excessive amounts of tea I normally drink I switched to decaf about a year ago. Although I find decaf tea is often quite expensive. Any one seen any cheap ones anywhere?0

I have stopped drinking coke zero (cost me at least £15 per week!) and now drink an amazing amount of tea! I am love my brands but in the spirit of MSE I will pick up the asda smart price tea bags when we start running low!
I'll do a simple blind tea test... if I like them then why not stick to them!0 -

Whereas we thought the opposite - too weak and yukky! My husband made me throw them away as I couldn't bring myself to do it - very un-MSE! Shows why there are so many varieties of food as we all have different tastes! When I have got through my approved food Tetley, I'll give Asda Smartprice a go......There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0 -

You have to choose the type of tea which suits your water. e.g. Yorkshire tea is made for hard water, don't try it if you have soft water0

Tetly One Cup seem fine at 99p for 100 in various places, Wilko's, pound shops etc.My OH drinks gallons of tea and Yorkshire Tea is too expensive as he only drinks half mostly anyway.Try them.0

I've always stuck to my Typhoo at roughly £1 for 100 from Homebargains and Instore. (sometimes possible to get 200 for £1.50 from the latter).
Interesting to read about the 28p teabags and the good reviews. Might have to experiment if they will still make a nice strong brew.
Grew up on PG tips as my parents will drink nothing but. Won't touch it now I've tried Typhoo which I think makes a much tastier cuppa.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

After reading this we went out and bought some sainsburys basics. Cost 31p, don't know if they've gone up or just more expensive as we only have sainsbury local. Anyway, made my hubby a cup without telling him and he commented on what a good brew! Hubby likes a good strong cuppa in a pint pot and as he enjoys the new cheap and fairtrade tea we won't be going back to Tetleys.
Now coffee ...... I've tried a few cheaper coffees and have always gone back to kenco instant, anyone got a cheaper alternative for this??
Thanks0 -
I drink Earl Grey tea, and usually buy M and s teabags, one day i had ran out and we were in Lidl when o/h found some, 59p for 25 tea bags, well you can imagine the look on my face lol, , but they are the BEST i have ever brought, they have a lovely taste and you dont need to squeeze the life out of them.0
