Talking of 50p chickens, I popped into Morrisons late last Friday night for some beer (20 mins from closing time) and picked up a ready-cooked chicken for 42p....:eek:Call me Carmine....

Actually I was genuinely wondering where the point comes when, instead of thinking 'that's cheap, great' you think 'that's cheap, why?'.
Why is easy they take a loss on the chicken which they lure you in with and hope you spend more on top, this is a very basic marketing strategy that has been around for decades.AKA: PC

I wish M&S would do an offer like this, I much prefer their Oakham chickens, but only buy when there is an offer on.
Good deal though for a family meal.
Anyone else find chickens from different shops/stores taste different??
Asda and Morrisons seem inferior, though Sainsburys are ok. IMHO, but why.

Marks are not that expensive tbh honest, as they usually have 25% off most weeks, then they switch to a different chicken!!!
Myself and my partner will only ever purchase the oakham ones!!!, and we have never purchased a cheap chicken, or any cheap meat tbh.:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

This is not a dig at anyone, but I do think there is quite a lot of confusion over what marks mean what, so it might be useful for those who are interested!
i seem to remember a panorama program a while ago saying that the rspca dont actually check the farms with the tractor logo so actually its not guaranteed to be better than a farm without it. the rspca issue GUIDE LINES not mandatory requirements to any one wanting to use the tractor logo. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I am familiar with basic marketing.
I suspect you have totally failed to grasp my point.0 -

I don't mind bumping your thread tbh, people can choose whatever chicken they like and I am all for letting people know about bargains (and the implications of them) so they can make their own choices!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I am sure there are other sites with explanations of what the symbols are supposed to mean, but I just thought this one was useful.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
