Talking of 50p chickens, I popped into Morrisons late last Friday night for some beer (20 mins from closing time) and picked up a ready-cooked chicken for 42p....:eek:

Why is easy they take a loss on the chicken which they lure you in with and hope you spend more on top, this is a very basic marketing strategy that has been around for decades.

Marks are not that expensive tbh honest, as they usually have 25% off most weeks, then they switch to a different chicken!!!

Myself and my partner will only ever purchase the oakham ones!!!, and we have never purchased a cheap chicken, or any cheap meat tbh.

I don't mind bumping your thread tbh, people can choose whatever chicken they like and I am all for letting people know about bargains (and the implications of them) so they can make their own choices!

My point exactly, the RSPCA are not 'anti' 'red tractor' but certainly not actively 'pro' either! They endorse the 'freedom foods' standard.
I am sure there are other sites with explanations of what the symbols are supposed to mean, but I just thought this one was useful.
