Daily mail as a quality source??!!

True, the Mail is pretty poor, but equally matched on the other side by the idoicies of The Guardian and The Independent.
Just because a newspaper appeals to your political instincts, doesn't mean that it is carried down the mountain every morning by Moses.
As for the condescending Brigstockeian sneering about 'Daily Mail readers', it's hard to see the tofu-munching classes as much of an alternative.
And, let's be fair, all you democracy fans: there many more of them.
Love this - :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Whilst we have a labour govt the daily mail will dish up bad news and dirt on a daily basis, when the tories get in(if they do)it will be all peace and light, until they realise that camerons tories are also a useless bunch of bankers(ok im being polite,it is sunday)
Hi Woodbine - I actually disagree with you. I think that the Daily Mail believes it has inherent power, and that whatever Government is in place, the DM will be there criticising.

Is anyone else surprised by the number of posts that use the daily mail as their source?
Yet many more reputable sources are just viewed as biased (which they may be, but at least they don;t make money from selling that news and therefore have a vested intersted in making it dramatic!).
No wonder this board is full of sensationalists!
Why is this on a house board?Not Again0 -
why buy any of the newspapers, when you can get most of the worlds newspapers for free on this website www.thebigproject.co.uk/newsvivatifosi wrote: »I'm not a big fan of the Mail (or Express, Sun or Star for that matter), but how can anyone know whether the news is biased or not unless they read widely from across all sources? Surely all news sources have their own agenda, whether owned by a magnate or a trust.
Plus all news sources will occasionally get a scoop, or just notice something the other papers don't pick up on.
Don't want to buy them? Go to the library and read them for free - a great way to get the wider take on the economy and very MSE.
similarly for financial news one can see this website http://www.thebigproject.co.uk/money.htm MSE afterall.
or on anything else at http://www.thebigproject.co.uk/index.htm
some bigger countries might have separate pages with more links via the main webpage.
there even is a property page with all the links http://www.thebigproject.co.uk/property/index.htmbubblesmoney :hello:0 -

Great site bubblesmoney! The only problem I have with online papers - which I suppose is fair enough - is that they generally don't put the whole paper online. So, there's cheapskate me, watching the Sky paper review and then can't find the article they are talking about. Very frustrating... Anyhow, got to go, the paper review is about to start and I need to get my fix. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? the www.thebigproject.co.uk/news website has all the news articles from uk and other countries newspapers as far as i am aware. have been using that website for a few years now. but the weekend magazine section might not be available fully, although am not sure about that as usually dont read those sections much. i scan thru all the uk papers via this website almost every day and read any interesting articles, if i have the time.vivatifosi wrote: »Great site bubblesmoney! What I'm surprised by is that today's Mail on Sunday is giving away a free Pet Shop Boys CD, given their recent crusade against all things homosexual.
That amused me too. I seem to recall that they were part of Red Wedge too.
I wonder what the old blue rinse dears thought of the Prince CD that was marketed through the Wail on Sunday? Every Mail reader's nightmare son-in-law surely? How many of the lyrics would they understand anyway?Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -

Well, I certainly found the 'move in with a partner, turn off commercial/pop radio and start listening to Radio 4 including The Archers' rumour to be entirely factual.0
