Morning all:hello:
I know that everyone is commenting on 'the vase situation' and I'd just like to add another voice to push for getting another one from a shop and get your DH to tell her. If he can't then I'd point to the special vase and then point to myself and maybe even give it a hug. No language needed but she would get the message that it is yours and special. Good luck.
Sunny here and WM on with towels. It will be lovely to get them on the line.
I had a facial yesterday and she also did a bit of my shoulders. She said one was like blocks of tightened muscles although the other one 'broke down' more easily. Then when she did high up at the back of my neck she was surprised that it was the opposite side which was tight. I could feel her going over one bumpy tight muscle. But when I told her about my reaching up to write on the board with my right hand (sore right shoulder) then twisting round to my left and speaking to the class while I do it, it made sense. She has given me some exercise sheets and instructions to sit every night with a hot water bottle or head pad on my neck to help slacken those muscles. My back is still a bit sore but not quite as bad as when I was in bed earlier in the week with the tum bug. Our mattress is just b*ggered so we've decided to get a new one rather than a whole new bed as we don't want to transport a bed when we move. But we both have bad backs now and DH doesn't suffer with his when he works away. I've been browsing online for good mattresses so hopefully we'll get sorted out this week. I injured my spine in a road accident 25 years ago and I pay thr price if a bed is done.
Ok, moans over.
Sunday lunch will have to be put back till tea time as I'm defrosting some chicken and will make a casserole. I'm also going to add quorn to bulk it out a bit. I'm trying to use up what is in the freezer this month.
Other jobs today inlclude a little more gardening and then take some stuff to the tip (that's DH's job:D). He also said he has some clothes and shoes to throw out so that's good as well. I might also take down the awful black shelving in DD's old room and put that down to the tip. They have a bit at the side (at the tip) where you can leave things for people to take. So...might leave those and the brackets.
Will have to sort out some clothes for work this week. Only 4 days though as we are off to Cheltenham on Thurs night yippee.
Have a good Sunday folks

Morning all. Still quite bright here this morning although few grey clouds around and when I first got up there was slight sleet!!
Just had an amazing bacon sandwich made with my first ever batch of hm granary bread(or indeed first ever any hm bread other than soda bread). I don't know whether it was because I was so proud of having made it or just that hm is better but I really enjoyed that sandwich!!!
Since money has been really tight with OH being on very short time at work, I have tried making all kinds of things that I have never tried before. Had some mash left from tea last night so opened some tuna and made fishcakes for tea for tomorrow - don't know what they will taste like! I am quite enjoying the challenge of not shopping much (good job really as I don't have alot of choice in the matter!)
Going to a wedding fair today with DD1 - she is not getting married until next August but we need to start booking things now I suppose. I am hoping this will inspire her coz once the initial euphoria of the engagement wore off, she seems to be very laid back about it all and I know from speaking to other mums at work that we really need to start getting a little organised now especially for an August wedding.
Anyway must dash as we are setting off in half an hour and I haven't even dried my hair yet! Hope everyone has a restful and happy Sunday. Hugs to all"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Back from the lottie, boy was it cold. We managed to prune the blackcurrants, gooseberries, climbing rose and clematis the latter two so that I can move them to the new garden. I also got the tayberry moved, then it started to rain, so we packed up a bit quick and came home for a bowl of scotch broth and garlic bread.
I put the sheets in to wash before we went out, put them in the dryer and stuck a load of towels in the washer. I dare say I will miss the dryers at times, but I will not be buying one, a clothes airer will have to do if it rains!!!
Chicken for supper, have to do the veg and sort out a dessert, maybe another sponge perhaps with golden syrup......will see how I feel when I am in the kitchen. I also need to make some scones or cakes to have at tea times.
We called at the market on the way out to see the rug man, OH thinks the sitting room will be better with a rug on it......for me the jury's out. I would rather move in and then see if we should get a rug...........
I brought a trowel and hand fork back with me, the garden at the new house is sprouting weeds, so I want to get them out before they get a strangle hold....the lottie is bad enough, I did not get enough time to weed last year whilst OH was hors de combat and am paying for it now. I have hundreds of foxglove seedlings coming up, I love them, but not all over the place, must get the flower spikes cut off this year before they seed.
Right better go and get the sheets from the laundry and put the towels into the dryer........must not forget to iron the sheets this week................I worked out that I can strip the bed the day we leave so I can wash and dry them before we leave, I do not think I will have the washing machine until after we have moved in..........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Thanks for your good wishes ladymay. I *usually* am pain free with my back unless I'm standing a lot so I'm very lucky I know. I think the muscles have seized up a bit with my bad mattress. I need to get going with my pilates DVD but our lovely new £25 DVD player doesn't seem to want to work . DH is off back to Rainbow with the receipt. I've opted to stay and have a sandwich as I'm starving and need feeding NOW. He wouldn't wait .
Have taken down a shelf from DD's room so that is done. Wiped round 2 of the bedrooms with Stardrops, vinegar and water mix, also hoovered upstairs. What is it about the sun shining that makes me want to clean? I'm not normally like this .:p
Hoping to get some decluttering done. I did loads last summer but need to get a move on and get some more stuff out.
Ok, off to make 2nd sandwich for me and better make one for the DVD fixer

Afternoon all
Well little DGD is home at last :j She came home yesterday tea time. DS works Saturday night so DIL and DGDs stayed over at her mums and received plenty of TLC and I am sure DIL had a good nights sleep at last. Thank you all so much for your good wishes and PMs.
Just had roast lamb and all the trimmings for dinner so am full up now. I will have a surf while I digest it and then am going to take some pics of a few things for Ebay. Got a few things that I have been thinking of going on for a while but kept putting it off. Am in the mood now so strike while the iron's hot I say.
Am also going to start making meal plans for each week. Never really thought about doing it before, but will be doing extra hours from April so want to get more organised where meals are concerned as obviously I won't be home so much.
Have a good Sunday all xxxx0 -
just popped on to say thankyou so much for all the good wishes and support for me and DH, it means so much to both of us.
DH had a slightly better night, and he is getting a little dip in the pain levels from time to time, so hopefully this is the light at the end of the tunnel.
DD1 has cooked chicken and chips for lunch and made some mashed potato for her dad, DD2 has helped to tidy up, they have been so good especially as they have been upset greatly by the distress their dad has been in. I am very proud of them
Chrisca so glad DGD has come home, (((hugs))) to you DGD and her family
Nic1Lou2 I used to love going around wedding fayres trying on dresses ( before I got married lol)
Tru kids can be so bloody thoughtless, think you were very restrained
I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday
gentle (((hugs))) to those that need0 -
Hi,hope everyone is having a good weekend. We had a lovely evening last night when our friends came-the meal went down well so I'm glad I decided to cook instead of a takeaway.I've got a nice sectioned Spanish platter that I filled with olives, cherry toms and peppadew peppers, and another filled with salami and hams(mainly from Aldi),which was a very easy starter, then the chilli and rice, and the lemon drizzle cake to finish.Oh and the ladies tried the blueberry gin I made at Christmas. So all fairly OS.The best bit is that there is some of the starter left and a bit of chilli left that will do us for tea over some baked spuds,so a lazy day for me. Yipee!
My neighbour has rung to ask if I will keep popping in to feed and walk the dog as her son is being transferred to another hospital (needs long term treatment) and she wants to stay to see him settled.I've said yes because she has no one else to ask & is in a fragile state and I dont want to add to her worries. I cant manage to take our big dog out at the same time as hers ,so its seperate walks.Ah well.
Thank you for the good wishes yesterday regarding the months worth of work for DH and DS,looks like they got it :j so that will keep the wolf from the door for a bit longer. They cant start immediately as the windows and stuff need to be measured up and ordered, which will take a few days, but its a weight off DHs mind.
Chrisca ,so glad DGD is at home and feeling a bit better.
Red ruby-glad you sound like you had a lovely time last night. You too SilverC-better without a hangover!
Have a lovely lazy Sunday folks-hugs to anyone in need.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi everyone, my first post on this thread so I'm a bit scared! Just discovered MSE a few weeks back, and LOVE IT. Good to read about like-minded people and I'm really inspired to make changes in my life and go back to OS (I was brought up that way).
I'm having a lazy day today after a long working week (65 hours:eek: ), a lot going on this week, I work in a school and we have an inspection next week so everyone is stressed (another good reason to relax today).
I'm cooking a roast beef dinner using some cooked beef from the freezer which I brought home after a function at work, and using up veggies from the fridge.Should be done in 1/2 hour or so , I keep popping on here between stirring and chopping. I made 2 lemon drizzle cakes by request from DD, should last a couple of days:D , that's also baking while the roast spuds are in.
Just brought in washing from the line, the first lot I've put out since last year and it rained.....now on the airer on the landing. I'm avoiding using the TD except for towels/socks/pants, so down to twice a week tops.
Wishing you all a good week and look forward to joining you again.0
