I got '1001 uses for Vinegar' for £1 - original price £9.99 - which I think is ridiculous - but I have wanted it for ages and for £1 it was a bargain to me.
Got this same book for 20 pence off a jumble sale!

Oh, and one other tip. The coloured wedgwood style pottery that used to be so popular is now worth virtually nothing, so don't buy any. I bought a box from an auction about 3 years ago thinking I was going to make a fortune and am still teased about it now when I go to the auction house as I was the only bidder and was very eager to buy and everyone including the auctioneer thought I was mad. I can't even give the stuff away at 99p.

Forget beannie babies as well (another cupboard load of them)
I think if you have the space you should just keep them in storage, because they will be a demand for these sooner or later. When I used to go to the jumble sales many years ago, stuff like vintage costume jewellery was called 'tat' but I bought these really cheap and stored them. Now it's all the rage and I hardly ever pick these up at the jumble sales now.

I bought a Kaffe Fassett cardigan for £3.00 at a Boot Sale last week, it is gorgeous. I will wear it myself in the colder evenings around the house. I love his designs.
