I spent 3 horrible days last week (and most of the nights  ) getting my house cleaned and ready for a visit - my Mil, Sil and Bil were all visiting on different days.

I survived the visits (probably wouldn't have passed Anthea’s white glove test upstairs though:rotfl: )

After the visits I was so relieved but also so unhappy, as I knew I wouldn't be able to keep it so clean. I then saw Anthea's 10 minute system on here and thought I would give it a go as it was so simple.

I want to stress I hate cleaning with a vengeance... 10 mins is all I can cope with before I get distracted..... but.... and this is a huge but .... it seems to be working even though :

    I have 2 children

I have 8 rooms (9 if you count the stairs)

I have tried Flylady (bit too complicated for poor ole me)

I appreciate that I started with a house that was unusually clean.... but using this system I hope I will never ever have to spend a full hour cleaning just one room in this house ever again( btw how do you spend a whole hour cleaning a bathroom  ? - reminds me of the woman on the last prog who was convinced it would take her 30mins to load and unload her dishwasher and when she timed herself it only took a couple of mins :rotfl: )

I hope I am not going to be the only one brave enough to say this system seems to be working for me!

    Mega xx

I do have a 'no toys in the kitchen' and 'no toys in the bathroom' rule as well as 'no toys on the stairs' after a nasty accident involving a toy and some stairs... but i still hesitate at disposal.Must be stronger. THere is a black bin bag full of debris from the kids' front room, I must throw that out. They haven't missed the contents!

I'm glad its not just me who feels guilty throwing things away. i always think about them after they've gone and wonder if i couldn't have found a use for them. drives me mad. but the joy of more room is finally starting to win through.

I have watched this programme and found it hilarious .She is so anal-retentive it's just not true .She is in serious need of a humour transplant. It's her scary eyes that make her seem weird .No normal person behaves like this daft woman for goodness sake. She is welcome to her 'perfect' house and life , it doesn't seem like much fun.

I think you may find that Anthea's "house" is just a set in a BBC studio. I remember something similar during the 1980s where two Aberdonian ladies were showing us how to save money by making a necktie out of a teatowel - that sort of thing. Those two I could take, but as the BBC are involved in the Anthea Turner thing, I should imagine it is done in the most patronising way possible. I remember one of their programmes on losing weight. Frightful.
