@p1an0player Paul_Herring was right, I did have good laugh at the letter telling me of wonderful new service called Personal Reserve and then sent it back saying 'No'. The worse overdraft I got with Barclay is ten pence. My agreed Overdraft Limit with Barclay is only ten pounds. As it is, it only usage is to act as an account for on-line purchases.

My daughter declined this "kind" offer from Barclays - she never goes near her current o/d limit;she then received a call from Barclays who wanted to know why!!
She told them to look at the way she ran her account whereupon they tried to sell her savings accounts !

Just had a letter telling me that my claim over bank charges is potentially valid, but that any fees in relation to the Barclays Personal Reserve are not valid. I was wondering if it was still worth raising a complaint on this disproportionately expensive fees?

 It is not valid since they are charging you the service. After all, the bank charges and Personal Reserve fees are two very different things. Banks can charge you the fees for using their services. I noticed that they suddenly created Personal Reserve service very soon after the test case was decided in favour of Office of Fair Trading. I believed you should be able to opt-out of it, so basically, you did not opt-out when you was given the chance to do so I think.

I've prob paid around £150 on this because I did not opt out. So you do not think it's worth trying?

You can try, but I think the general impression is you won't get very far with it.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

    Thanks for that, will do.

Potentially if I threaten to take them to court over it, it could mean for them a dangerous precedent. So who knows, but I'll give it a go!
