MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.:hello:0 -
Yes perfectly legal, although it may have been necessary to write to him and inform him about it. When Barclays initiated this on my account they wrote to me and informed me, I'm not 100% sure but I think I had the option at the time to decline, but if I did not reply then they would take that as a yes and go ahead.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Do i presume that a reserve account is really just the same as an overdraft.
I have one with HSBC but i havent used it for years, its separate from my current account and i would only incurr charges if i 'dipped' ie 'borrowed'
from it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Barclay sent a letter to everyone asking if they want to opt-out of Barclay Personal Reserves. I did so gladly.0

overdraft on steroids:Tmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I can't see why you'd want to opt out of Personal Reserve? It's a buffer between staying within the agreed overdraft limit, and going into unauthorised overdraft. The fees are cheaper than unauthorised overdraft.0

I can't see why you'd want to opt out of Personal Reserve?Conjugating the verb 'to be":
