When my dog fell down a few times for no reason back legs seem to give way the vets recommended a body, brain scan then decided it was arthritis in the back legs which I had suspected in the first place as our dog was getting older.
Anti-inflammatory pills was prescribed daily, as well as a huge bill luckily we had the dog insured.
Did not like giving our dog pills all the time so after a bit of research decided to give our dog cod liver oil, glucosamine and bought a magnetic collar which as worked perfect for 2 years minus the pills.
I have never been to a cheap vets yet.0 -

Thats because they don't exist:rolleyes:
We have just had our dog MRI scanned due to a nerological condition. The cost of the scan alone was £1,059!!!!!
Human MRI scans are about a 1/3 of the price although an Anaesthetist isn't required.0 -

I recently took my daughter's hamster to a RSPCA hospital in London. I only had to pay £10 consultation fee, and reduced costs as i get WTC and CTC.
They are geared towards people who can't afford full vet costs, and are great with the animals.

You need to be in receipt of housing benefit or council tax benefit to qualify for free treatment for your pet.
You also need to live within a catchment area of the hospital, dictated by your postcode. This year, I will mainly be kicking some serious money saving butt!0 -

Are you talking about the PDSA petaid practice scheme? it's not clear from your post?
If it is, it's still the housing or council tax benefit rule that applies, This is for areas where there isn't a hospital & private practices are willing to help meet the client 'halfway' so to speakThis year, I will mainly be kicking some serious money saving butt!0 -
