i don't know of any websites, however you'll probably find that the old surgery type vets rather than the new almost supermarket type vets will be cheaper, the old school vet on the whole tends to be more geared to the welfare of the animal and not making the most amount of money from people, sorry if that offends anyone, but has an owner/breeder and exhibitor for many years thats been my experience of vets.Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

No but if you ring around for quotes eg for neutering you can then compare prices. I rang 8 or 9 and one was much cheaper than the others so i use that one now. They don't mind you ringing to get a rough quote before you make an appointment. Good luck0 -

Be wary of using a cheaper vets. We used a very local vets which was very cheap compared to all the others. However when our cat was hit by a car and was bleeding they expected us to drive her to their main vets 40 minutes away, it turned out that the local one was just an "outlet".Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. You need to be in receipt of housing benefit or council tax benefit to qualify for free treatment for your pet.One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other0 -

thats not just with cheaper vets tho, theres a very large vets practice near us and we needed to take one of ours for an emergancy operation one weekend, our vet was in hospital poorly so choose the nearest to us (ie the large very expensive practise) they wouldn't perform the operation at weekend and said we;d need to travel miles to another one (still part of the same practise) we refused as it was an emergency and found another one in the area that would do the operation immediately, i would recommend it's something ya need to check with all vet surgeries as to what they do in emergancies and weekends, but i would imagine in an emergancy, cost isn't an issue, ya just wanna find a vet that can see to your pet immediately.Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

Try this national vet practice:

They can be quite competitive on vaccines and neutering costs.0 -
Cheapest isn't always the best my Mum's a vet nurse and I wouldn't let her boss touch my cats he's in the job to make money and IMHO lacks the compassion which is needed to work with animals. The practice in which Mum works is the cheapest and she will often come home with horror stories about this persons practice. A trick which my Auntie uses because she's on benefits and never has any money, is to go for the consult and then offer to pay for the treatment monthly. If your animal is a cat try the cats protection league or see if you have an RSPCA clinic nearby also. Alternatively checkout your local rescue centres to see if they can help they are usually the experts and would gladly give advice. If you have pet insurance see if you can claim on that and sometimes that helps.0
