Just dipped back into this thread and I am saddened to see that, yet again, the op's point has been forgotten. I was #834 when I signed the petition so at least it looks to be going in the right direction:j
The point of the petition is to raise awareness of the plight of all carers irrespective of the individual circumstances. The op certainly has her heart in the right place and CARED enough to draw our attention to this petition and march. I for one am very grateful.

  • Its good that she cared enough to try but no-one in government cares about carers we are just here to save money and make ourselves ill in the process.

that would be so unfair on the poor child though!!!

the fact that the disorder exists is far beyond debate, so go and find another bandwagon to jump upon polish!!
just because u are a so called biologist b y trade does not make u any better or more informed than anyone else.
I could in fact provide far more evidence to back up the fact it exists, but in all honestly i dont have the time or inclination, too busy caring for a disabled child. Its not always possible to educate those who are so narrow minded so i gave up long ago with fellows such as yourself, its not worth the effort, as u dont want to learn anything about the disorder, just to criticise it and its sufferers. shame on you.:rotfl:

Hiya..I did think about asking for the ADHD debate to be moved to a more appropriate thread..but then I suppose this thread is about whether carers allowance is fair..and polish's comment was that in his/her opinion it isn't fair (for it to be given to families of children diagnosed with ADHD). It's healthy to have a proper debate about these things. Even if you don't agree with what polish is saying (and I am sooooo staying on the fence about this one) it's good to hear the other side of the argument. That's how understanding moves forward.

Lukiesgirl I'm glad you're supporting the petition :)

My heart is kinda in the right place..I'm definitely not a saint though, I'm mostly motivated by the realisation that anyone could become a carer at anytime..including me (eek)! To be honest, I'm not sure I could cope with being a carer. Hopefully I'll never have to find out. But the point is, it's probably one of the most difficult jobs so they should really be supported to do it.

  • I am number 1000 and I hope this petition does some good, that would be the prize I would like for my Husband and all carers everywhere.
