I would certainly check with Orange before changing over incase you lose the 5 free texts as I know the last time I spoke to them about PAYG pricing for calls there was definately mention of if you moved from one package you couldn't go back and I may loose the texts.0

I can confirm that your account is transfered 'as is' onto the new phone/SIM, if you follow Orange's proper upgrade procedure. Been there - done it!

In fact Orange could at some time in the future, state that an old SIM is now incompatible with their network as a means of taking the 5 texts a day off you, so do the correct upgrade and follow their procedure!
I agree that adding any other package would most probably invalidate the original 'Out Here' text package.
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Motorola V545 Refurbished from TheLink at £39.99 with charger and battery included plus standard 12 month warranty isn't too bad - it has a camera with zoom, as well as BlueTooth, Java and MP3 Ringtones - although the antenna on it may look slightly unfashionable."To be or not to be......that is the question"

You can change your sim and keep the 5 free texts, but you can't change to another text package and keep the 5 free ones i.e the 300 messages for £10. It's one or the other, and If you change they won't let you go back again0 -
Can I just ask about the '5 free texts a day' sims - I have an old orange sim which i've started using again as I'm not being charged for texts. When I was using this sim I was using this tariff but I'm sure I paid £20 to have 5 free texts a day for a year then this expired after a year so I didn't expect still to be getting free texts
How did those with the free texts get on to the tariff? Does it sound like I have the free texts tariff or is it just a fluke that my texts aren't being taken off my balance?
I'm reluctant to phone orange right now in case they discover their error

When orange started the offer it was 5 free texts a day for life for £20, they then changed it to 5 day for a year £20
I guess you could send 6 messages, and see if you get charged for the last one!0 -
