Not having a life in the third year!

it can be done, i did my 3rd yr dissertation over the easter hols, not because of any lack of planning, just cos I was a p1sshead at uni & hated writing essays. still managed to get 71%. It was bloody hard work for those couple of weeks though, I had afew all-nighters getting it finished and in on time

Does anyone else feel like jacking in all in and quitting, STILL not started writing dissertation despite the fact I have actually done a fair amount of reading and taking notes and things.....seriously fed up now, not to mention absolutely shattered!

Tips - go to your student support office, make an appointment to speak to the counsellor. I handed my dissertation in over the summer (which again I only knocked out in a four day all nighter marathon at the last minute) and fell out of uni with a 2.1

K that's the one you use when you really need out of the brown stuff, but when ya just want a wee night on the town instead of in the books there are
some other ways to get extra time.

if like some of my old lecturers, they ask you to email your coursework to them, send the email but 'accidentally' forget to attach the document and avoid that lecturer until you have it done or my favorite one - fill a word doc with symbols, numbers, a few wingdings and what not, save it as the title of your essay and send it as an attachment. They'll assume technology is to blame for the jibberish on the screen and you're flying...back to the union bar again You know you're gona try it aren't ya, go on, do it, it works!

I highly doubt that this is actually a real post and that you are actually a troll. But if this is true then shame on you!!
Many students such as myself work damn hard to get the grades we do with lots of forward planning etc... students like you well and truely pi55 me off!! Pure laziness, you dont deserve a degree - if you actually have one that is.

Despite having spent several hundred hours colcting data, researching, writing, meeting my advisor etc, when my stats went hideously wrong, I was convinced I should just throw in the towel now. :rolleyes:

Still writing, just doing the last draft of my discussion now. So close I can taste it, and it feels so good! :beer:

3rd year is coming to the realisation that the choices you made at the tender age of 17/18 ... will determine your career for the short term... and that the final year is the final 'push' to ensure you are as employable as possible.

Stop complaining about no social life on MSE and do your disseration :P. I spent 1 whole week 12 hours a day writing my 14,000 word 40 page technical report .. i got 84% for it

Your title to this thread sums my life up at the minute. My dissertation is due in on Tuesday and I still have improvements to make! Stressed is an understatement. Lol.
