  • I finally got my tickets on Thursday, after giving up hope of ever getting them as i had missed the first couple of tokens so would have been at the back of the queue. Got tickets for the 3rd preferred date, we chose the dates that weren't in the kids holidays, but at least we are going for only buying a weeks worth of papers! :)

People are allowed to have an opinion on here - just because it differs from yours it doesn't mean it is wrong to air it, or it gives you the right to make the negative generalisation that certain people are hard to please!

You have commented negatively twice on Amy21J's decision to write to the Sun - surely that is her perogative.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend.

And it's my perogative to comment negatively.

    Thankyou, you too.

I got BOGOF vouchers on tetley teabags, but can't see any in the shops at the moment. Mine were 'strong' tea, a new one I think? on BOGOF in tesco around a month ago.

As for spending thousands of pounds in tesco, you get extra points for using your own carrier bags and some car parks have recycling centres which give points. Ours used to give points on plastic etc. but now only gives them on drinks cans. I've seen men litter picking cans in the allotments etc. then recycling them at tesco :) (people break into the allotments to drink at night for some reason).

I got a few points vouchers in recent mailings too, and if you shop online you can often find a points voucher in the vouchers thread. My recent order gave me 750 points which was well worth paying the £3.50 delivery charge.

But as a consumer, why shouldn't she make a complaint to the Sun if she wants to? Maybe they shouldn't have given people the option of preferred dates then.

The Merlin group don't give out these from the goodness of their hearts, they get free advertising from the biggest selling daily paper. The Sun in turn sells more copies and gets more names and addresses to put on their customer database It's a win, win situation for both.

Anyway, I'm off to spend £3,600 at Tesco to accrue £36 worth of Clubcard Vouchers for a day out at Alton Towers!

Sorry, just noticed your last point. You need to spend nowhere near that to get a ticket for Alton Towers. I don't know how much it is off the top of my head, but if you use the codes on here and other sites, you'll get plenty very quickly.

Really? What is the point of contributing to these forums if you have nothing but negative things to say and appear to be mocking people for their opinions? Not very constructive. I thought we were all here on this forum to try and save money.

Have just noticed your last point. You cannot convert Tesco Vouchers into Tokens (x4 their amount) to purchase from the Merlin Theme Parks.

Therefore for a family of 4, it will cost £36 in Tesco vouchers (£9 each) - given that you get a £1 Tesco Voucher for each £100 you spend it would have cost you £3,600 for an Alton Towers Day pass for a family of four via the regular shopping method, however I appreciate you can boost your points total by many other ways if you so choose.

    Stay Happy!

Right, I'm off. I wasn't mocking, I was suggesting it was a bit silly going to the lengths of sending a complaining email because you didn't get a specific date band when it was never promised to you. These tickets are virtually FREE and for that you have to accept that you can't choose your date.

For a 1 day ticket to Alton Towers, you need to use £9.50 of tesco voucher/points, which is VERY easy to collect, if you know how. I prefer to save mine for other stuff, so saved the vouchers in the Sun.

I'm happy, and will stay happy, thankyou very much. I'm off.

I got 2 lots for Mon 27th April and Thurs 30th April. A weekend or school holiday is better for us. Anyone want to swap?

Don't forget wombling!!!:j *opens up new can of worms!*

ActuallyI have to say points are very thin on the ground. last year I was getting up to £60/£70 a quarter in points vouchers. In February I got a lousy £28

Last year we had all those lovely 100 points on wipes which worked on the value wipes at 37p (Still using them now,!!!! lmao. Took kids for picnic yesterday and used them) plus regular till spits for 500 on clothes toys etc etc. All the extra points in mailings for clubs which have now been replaced by money off. For a couponer like me, that's a shame, and online shops are sadly no good as they don't accept coupons and points are so thin on the ground.

I reuse bags each shop and I wombled about 140 points this week, but its miles less than I had.
