We received 2nd July, i think its a thursday.

Probably no good to us as of yet, but might come in luck as its in the week, so less people there potentially.

    Only a 1hr wait instead of 3hrs.

    There's no pleasing some people.

    here here ,

if u need to go a specific day ,, then pay full price or buy off ebay ,, dont save tokens and then complain that you didnt get the day you wanted ,, you can usually sell them on ebay which will help towards the cost of your tickets to go on the day you want ....

another bit of info , we went a cpl of weeks ago , and it was during school time we drove 3 hours to get there ,we queued for over hour and half on most rides we had a discount from the company i work for ,,, and it was a great day ,, lunch we didnt have burger king ( which has won the contract off mcdonalds ) we went to the pizza / pasta place ,, eat (pizza pasta and salad) and drink as much as u like for £6.95 per adult and £3.95 for kids , my son is 14 and got charged the kids price , the pizza and pasta tasted nearly as good as pizza hut and dont forget all drink u can we went up 2 - 3 times and filled our drinks bottles up fro rest of day too , and to be honest was much more filling than over priced BK £5.20 for a burger chips and drink
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Thanks for backing me up in my absence rosatoso. Little did I know that me stating that I was going to email would cause Nickyhutch such stress. I actually emailed Alton Towers (not the Sun) not about the tickets themseleves but that I had bought three papers before the terms and conditions came out that said they will allocate the date for you. I actually enquired if it was possible to get the date changed.
I have never heard of this offer before so did not know what to expect. I even enclosed a polite note explaining that I work in a school and can only use tickets if they are for a weekend (any in the year) or school holidays. Anyway, I have managed to swap my tickets so it's all good now (which I did not know you could do- merely came on here to ask if they checked at the gate if you are who it may say on the ticket).

Thanks again rosatoso. I think you understood what I was trying to get at.

No stress, just a little twinge of "oh fgs". I'm fine. Glad you got what you needed without needing the Sun or Alton Towers to intervene.

That brings back memories of being a week overdue and the midwife trying a sweep, then telling me I was fine to go on a theme park weekend because I wasn't ready to give birth :rotfl:

Southport/blackpool are a different kettle of fish to alton towers though - alton is big, lots of walking.

I hope you manage to change your tickets! best of luck.

  • Just to say we went last week...got 8th of April......I expected there to be such a mad rush but it was so calm...
some rides we were getting off and going back on again!!
we paid the 10 pounds for express parking just to be right next to the entrance.........which was worth it..
As far as walking alot......we used the skyride alot to get between the different areas rather than walking .....so that worked out.
all in all it was a brill day out...and when u see that on the gate they wanted £100 for a family of 4 u realise how much u have actually saved!!
  • i recieved my sun tickets for sun 14th june of but am doing the race for life and need to swap, what site are youall going on to swap
    tia
  • Yeah, I'm the same - took my chances with the tickets, but only down in Staffs for 1 week, and didn't get any date for when we are down.....
