Yipee managed to use my £2.00 off No.7 voucher plus my 200 points on No.7 voucher in the one transaction! And got another 2.00 off voucher, no.7 goodie bag and yet another one of the choccies for 99p voucher all in the one purchase. Oh it was great just like christmass. The assistant just put through the two vouchers ( I was buying the blusher + mascara) - lovely lass !!

I know, I would've done only they were on promotion, 2 for £XX. But it really baffles me how I've bought 2 Sanex shower gels in Sainsburys and used two 50p off vouchers even though the Sanex were BOGOF, but I can't do it in Boots.

It's because of the differences in the way the systems recognise the offer,

for example one system may charge for the first item and recognise the second as a free item and therefore not charge, another system would charge for both and then recognise the offer and refund for one.

The second method would result in two coupons being accepted as as far as the system knows two items have been charged it doesn't look for subsequent refund. Another anomaly of this type of system is that if you had a large denomination coupon for own brand product you can if you are like minded simply add the product to your basket and change your mind once scanned, the coupon would still be acceptable to the system although you no longer have the product in your basket, of course the assistant may be alert and refuse to scan the coupon but nothing ventured nothing gained!

Yep, sounds daft to me :( Especially considering that they're not losing anything by taking them - in fact they get paid a handling fee on top of the face value of the product voucher by the manufacturers. Whereas they're losing left right and centre with some of their in-house promos!!

Found 20 x No 7 lip liner pencils today for £1 each. Got 150 points on each one. :)

I did this last week but they were Boots 17 lip pencils.

No idea, lol! Picked one up took it to checkout and saw the points so went back for the other 20. :)

    Didn't use/need a voucher or anything.

Lip liners were No 7 and were reduced to £1.

Found some of these 17 pencils at £1. Not many left though. Bought 1 to see how many points then went back for 5 more, 900 points for £6 spend on lipliners :D. Only 2 colours left now cos I got the last plum one. Love when Boots pay me to take stuff away. Plus £10.30 worth of sandwiches for £3.75, yum.

Jaymac what did you buy, nosey me but I have been looking and the No7 range is not cheap is it.
I bought foundation and exfoliator yesterday, £17 so I got another free goodie bag, used both points vouchers in the same transaction so got 450 points, a couple of free samples and was offered a glass of No 7 champagne - but I was driving so declined that! Same salesperson then took my Eliz Arden voucher and gave me a free sample mascara.

Earlier in the week I used points to get tinted moisturiser and new cream blusher so I'd get a free goodie bag. Don't bother with blusher -£9 and you can't tell it's there; maybe blossom wasn't the best colour choice!

I see what you mean, but what happened in my case was that the Boots woman refused to scan the other coupon so I don't even know whether the system would have accepted it! (why oh why do some employees guard the shop's money as their own I don't know...)

Oooh, clever! Never thought of that myself, and am not sure I'd have the guts to do it... but a good idea!

    Hi
I got the blusher too after seeing it on Gmtv and yip - you cant tell its there. Waste of money and not to impressed with their false eyelash effect mascara - just like any normal one. Eye remover is good but !!
  • Haven't seen any good offers at my local Boots for ages - can only use the machines if i am with a relative or if the machine breaks down so i will get the staffer's attention.

Im jealous of whoever got £10.50 worth of sandwiches for £3.74, as i can only buy a sandwich @ boots once in a blue moon now, as i deplore having to pay £7 in taxis just to get there and back safely from the Retail Park where they relegated the Meal Deals to.

  • how do you manage to get such a good deal for sandwiches?

If you go to Boots about 2-3 hours before they close, any sandwiches that will be past the best before date the following day are reduced to 75p because they won't sell out of date stuff. When they had the coupon in H&B magazine for 50 bonus points when you buy the Turkey & Cranberry sandwich, I got 3 for 25p net each (separate transactions though)!!! The expensive wrap sarnies normally £2.80 go for 75p too. Even managed to get a microwave jacket potato for 75p a few weeks ago :D. Have to have them for your tea/dinner because if you wait for a late lunch you'll probably faint.
