yep, definately good for small quantities.

Also buy Mr T frozen mashed potato, for when I feel really lazy. I've just converted my mum to buying frozen onion. Ready chopped, just tip it out of the bag. Its ok as a stand buy when you've run out of fresh onions and you just want to get on with the cooking. Problem is, it can be a bit watery when you're frying it, the end result is exactly the same though.

Oh, nearly forgot, frozen sliced peppers, again good for a stand buy or when fresh are too expensive.

    I think that's it.

Can't believe the price of baby food.
On a similar note, I always buy the same pack of cotton wool from Mr T (from the baby section) to take make up off. Noticed 2 weeks ago that it had gone up by 20p in one go!!!!

Oh! that sounds interesting, I've been experimenting with the xmas pud and brandy butter, made my 2nd loaf last night added a teaspoon of mixed spice and used brandy butter, made scones too. going to try bread and butter pudding using the loaf.

Not wanting to hijack the Xmas pudding thread, but we've just discovered, after reading the label on the Brandy Butter pot in detail, (how sad!) that it's great spread on toasted muffins or fruit loaf toasted.
Not tried the fruit loaf - couldn't get any last week, but bought some reduced packs of crumpets, toasted them and spread on the brandy butter - delish!

I saw large Matthew Walker Xmas puds reduced to 50p each in my local (Paignton) 99p store yesterday. They had a huge stack of them!
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
  • squash the cake together form into round balls and dip into melted chocolate leave to harden and there you have truffles
