OOOh! that sounds yummy, so do the muffins, the loaf mixture wasn't unlike muffin mixture, I managed to get a few for 20p each with a few months in date. Will use the same recipe but take the butter out and use oil, and make a batch of muffins. I've got some cream left that needs using, will try the bread and butter pudding. I wont tell my family what they are made from though All I'll get is "We don't LIKE xmas pudding!"1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Mothership,
sorry my mistake, just googled it and it was simon rimmer and he did a bread and butter pudding with a tea loaf and left over mincemeat.
I'm trying to think how you could adapt it and get the christmas pud in there. There's got to be a way? I'd just sneak it in there, see if anyone notices.0 -

I'm going to try it out tomorrow, I was thinking of making the loaf first then try a batch of the bread and butter pudding, a wee bit of cinnamon or mixed spice in the egg mix might give it a wee zing. Thank you for the inspiration, I've got three bananas that will end up in a banana loaf with something dates maybe, might try a few slices of that as well.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

My daughter got me two tubs of brandy butter @ 5p each from Tesco. We already know xmas pudding goes with that, so I'm going to try some after xmas scones, and the xmas pudding loaf again only using the brandy butter in place of the butter.
I've got mashed potatoes, a whole xmas pudding, 4 Muler yoghurts, half a chocolate reindeer, 3 bananas, 3 mangos, 4 ripe avocados, and 10 eggs and a carton of cream that all need used up.
From this I should get a batch of potato scones for breakfast (with poached eggs), spinach and avocado soup, a banana loaf, xmas pudding loaf, some after xmas scones, and some muffins, and the xmas pudding bread and butter pudding. And some baby food, my 4 month old granddaughter is just getting started on solids. I've just frozen some butternuts quash soup in ice cube trays for her, to bag up when frozen. I nearly passed out when my daughter told me she paid £5 for 10 jars of baby food. I'm going to freeze some of the spinach and avocado soup and the mangos, and make a batch of chocolate and banana desert. Any ideas for baby food concoctions would be gratefully received.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

I've never used fresh spinach, I used to buy it and never get round to using it.
So I switched to frozen, about 95p a kilo from Mr T. It's frozen into useful sized blocks. I use it in veg lasagne. The trick is, defrost a couple of blocks for a couple of minutes in the microwave, squeeze out most (not all) of the water, then chop it up on a chopping board. Then cook with it as normal. For something I don't use very often it's convenient and brings the cost down.0 -

I bought a tin this time to try it, it was £1.29 from Tesco I'd have needed 2 packs of fresh at £1.50 a time. I will try the frozen next time thanks! I didn't know you could get it frozen, it would probably be better esp if I just wanted to make a small quantity.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
