Can anyone tell me why the till refused to let me pay with points yesterday for my magazines? I thought you could use the points for anything in store?

hiya:) I've redeemed points against magazines loads of times. I'm not sure why the till wouldn't let you:confused:the only time the till beeped, was when I didn't have enough points to pay for the magazine:rolleyes: I'd forgotten I'd used them all:o

Till didn't work for me with a mag recently. SAs dashing around trying to make it work, apologies going right left and centre -- in the end scanned some sweets, over-rode price to price of mag and let me pay w points.

Loads of lovely sels but no products left...well, apart from the 4 pks of toothpaste:T. Took all 4 for a wander round the store. Purchased 2 and 'hid' :o  2 for a bootser to find behind the .......display of Admit it you want me s&g sets in the skincare aisle about 8 boxes of this old gwp on this bit and then another 6 with the main s&g display ...look up :T . I already have these from earlier purchases, so left them behind, even at £3.** I was not tempted

It is worth trying, but don't be upset if they say no as they aren't supposed to. I would try at a couple of different stores if the first one said no; you might get lucky.

Had a lovely weekend in London seeing Grease the Musical on Friday night, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (which is fantastic!!!) last night, and to top it all DH suggested going to Brent Cross yesterday afternoon :j .

Managed to get No7 gloves, compact mirror, and nail buffer with Perkies on the SS tills, and also Vichy GWP (loads on a stand as you walk in the store) which is elusive where I live. There was also some No7 bags that I've not seen anywhere else. They were peachy coloured, like the indulgent bathing colours, and there were 3 different sizes starting with a cosmetic purse, and best of all......they work with the Perkie. I got the mid-size one which is the size of a toiletry bag for £6.75 after the Perkie :T .

No clearance that I could find, and none of the old GWP's (Olay, L'Oreal etc.) which is a shame as I am really after the red and black Olay one, but never mind you can't have it all ;) .
  • I do think there is stocking up and plain greed but in this instance we do not know if the woman was buying items for a refuge etc.
I know its highly unlikely but I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I realise that it is extremely frustrating.

I'm off to Oxford later this week and was just wondering if anyone could give me the lowdown, please.

Manchester Market St havent got any no7 pallettes left and wont be getting anymore. I went this morning to get one for my mum and was there when it opened but none to be seen anywhere, checked with the no7 sa and she said they didnt get many and went very quickly yesterday. She was really nice but did then ask would I like to buy the EMPTY case at £19.** and that way I can fill it with the items I really want not the selection they put in

Hmm, let me think, £17.** filled with make up or £19.** and then buy indiviual items at minimum of say £6.85 for an eyeliner etc etc?! Funnily enough I declined :rotfl:
Hope everyone else has more luck today.
