I do think they look a little bit sixties though, if you close one eye and squint a bit it looks like the Mary Quant daisy logo(on acid, lol)
PS Mr B is shooting himself in the foot by not letting us use perkies on reduced items, he'll just be left with loads of stuff that he can't shift then we'll get it for peanuts on clearance later in the year. Ha!
How true geordie_lassbut I stuck to cow bells rather than purple hearts, iyswim?
I had to Google for the logo btw, as I was forever trying to achieve the MQ look (huge dark socket lines lol) with some cheap 'tat' LOL, but at least I know what to look for re Petals
so thanks for that.
With all the reduced stuff and anomolies that will/won't work, I've taken to holding the item up in one hand, perkie in the other, waiting for a nod of confirmation, or a shake of rejectionI don't have to open my mouth that way, and SA's don't have to bawl me out
But I agree - I think MrB might shoot himself in the foot with that particular topic

DS2 has been advised to wear a high factor suncream when outside due to medication he is taking which makes his skin very prone to burning even in the winter and spring, this cream has been recommended by a friend, though I've never heard of it before.
Any info or recommendations for another sun screen gratefully received. In particular it will have to be suitable for use on his face and hands as they get the most sun exposure.
P20 is terrible for staining clothes too - i had to throw most of my holiday clothes away one year as they were ruined.

Also tried to use my No7 voucher and they won't let you use for anything on the reduced stand. No signs are up but the No 7 SA who is very nice said it's on the back of the voucher. Don't think I will be using mine as I have no money to be adding to it for things I don't really need!! These vouchers have got to be the worst we have had.
Sadly I think the same thing will happen with all future vouchers, pinkies, perkies, wibblies or wobblies.
Mr B seems to have decided that we won't get reduced items.
Every time we find a loophole to slip through, he closes it. We are our own worst enemy, as every glitch we publish gives him the information to wreck it.
But what goes around comes around mr B. Do you REALLY want a load of reduced stuff on your shelves each time something is repackaged?
We may be the scavengers sweeping the reduced stuff off the shelves, but the writing is on the wall already. It is now March and I have seen Sunscreen items, reduced, then reduced again, then increased in price, and still sitting on the shelf.
It's not shifting as we aren't buying. Give us a break - Please. :wall:
Just lift the 'Cant be used on reduced items restrictions'
You are taking away the advantages of the advantage Card. Times are hard for us all.:(~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
Thank you for the info Shirlgirl, regarding glasses. Alas, due to my advanced years, I am entitled to a free eye test anyway, but I will make an appointment at Boots and see what they can offer me.
BTW, the best reading glasses I have are those I bought for a couple of quid, in their own case, at Chelsmford market! I was so worried about losing my proper pair, that I bought these to keep in my handbag, and they're far better!
Got to visit the dentist too soon ........................0 -
I'm a fan of this too:D not seen it anywhere for a while
I still have quite a lot of the soaps in a dish that were in the 90% off sale, last year:D I also have a few gift sets that came in a nice blue bag, with a shower cap. I'd better use them before they go off. I've had them a couple of years:o
I had a look through my stash earlier and found some botanics beauty balm. It expired in 2007:eek:
Oh good, so I am not the only one then~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
Regarding the restrictions on the vouchers, I think you're absolutely right Polls. Lots of erstwhile Boots shoppers have taken to the hills and now go to S****dr*g, or a Pound Shop, and us hardcore devotees are keeping our hands firmly on our ha'pennies!!
I haven't actually "spent" anything for ages. Anything that gives me a rash, or makes my eyes itchy, I now take back, instead of leaving it in a cupboard for 3 years, or throwing it away.
Some stores give you a refund, with or without a receipt, but most refund via a gift card, so I just use that instead of dosh. Or I use my points if it's an item that I can't combine with coupons, or isn't Boots own brand.
Just sponsored a neighbour who is doing a charity bike ride, and as she was leaving I said "oh, hang on a tick, here's something to make you feel good after all your gruelling exercise" - and gave her a Sumptuous Bath thingy!

luxor4t when I was in my local store last night I specifically asked the No.7 SA if I could use the Perkie on accessories and she said YES- they just cant be used on reduced items or the vanity set with the make up pallets which is appearing in stores now. I think they were actually getting ready to put a sign up next to vanity sets to say voucher not accepted!
Hope this helps with your bootsing today and you get some goodies - I didnt manage to get any accessories as the cheaper items had already been nabbed - wiill try again today though
I went into Boots, made a beeline for the accessories and skidded to a halt...ALL GONE
well, all the things I wanted, which amounts to the same thing
Somebody had done a pretty comprehensive job of trashing the stand too -packets open, tweezers scattered about, everything mixed up.
Then I wandered down to the Dentalcare in search of the SEL reductions, specifically a new toothbrush. (Jetset lifestyle or what!)
Now, I know it is Saturday and I was in the busy, main branch. I also know that reductions are there to be sold etc etc but I saw the nasty side of Bootsing today.
A determined [strike]lady[/strike] woman was systematically stripping the shelves of the few reductions. She took EVERY SINGLE reduced toothbrush, and then searched the stand for more. Her basket appeared to have lots of toothpaste too. Far more than one familywill use in a year, but none left for anybody elseUgly, ugly.
So, not much of a shopping trip!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
