Bellydancer - I'm from Maidstone originally - I miss the days when the chequers centre boots was two floors and did kitchen equipment and all sorts of random stuff :rotfl: I used my first ever glitch aqcuired points to buy an espresso machine :) *stops reminising*

Yep, I remember the kitchen equipment bit :) They used to have a record department, too, and I bought my first ever single there (which I still have somewhere lol). It was good when there were 2 floors, as there was always a long clearance section along one wall near the back of the shop - I really miss that! This was in the days before I found out the vouchers are actually worth using, though.

Ooops, I'm showing my age now lol

Heads up for Edinburgh Bootsers..I was out at Fort today and was about to buy a tub of Extracts Body Butter when I came across a Clearance shelf full of Mediterranean and Amazon body butters and scrubs, reduced to £1.50 a tub for the butters and £2 for the scrub. Better deal than the Extracts so I picked up four tubs of butter and one of scrub.....took them to the till and discovered they were also included in the 1/3rd off promo. So £1 per tub for body butters and £1.33 for scrub.

Presumably they're discontinuing the Amazon and Mediterranean ranges to replace them with the Extracts, so other Bootsers might like to keep an eye open for these on their own Clearance shelves. Nice stuff too.

Bought Exstract mini body butter today. Was using ss but it didnt accept any of vouchers, saying i should skan vouchers after the last item. But i already skanned everything and the next step was only payment. What i did wrong??
Anyway, asked the sa for help and she said i cant use 2 vouchers (magasine+ACM) together  and skanned only one voucher on manned till
On my local SS tills, you click to pay, then on the screen where it asks you for your payment method, there is a 'vouchers option' which you select & it lets you scan your vouchers, then goes back to the payment method screen and you select card / cash / points etc.

Not sure if that was your question, so apologies if I've misunderstood

..had No 7 Stay Perfect compacts scanning at £3.18. Most shades in stock. Bought two lots of two, with a perkie with each, so £1.36 for two.

I just wondered if anyone had been brave enough to try a GWP with two of these? I remember that when the P&P body lotion was reduced from £24.50 to £12.25, the till recognised the original price as being over £18, so allowed GWP to go through.

Anyone fancy trying it for us?

Well another great day that started out quite dismally, but turned into a triumph! Dee had received her Gas & Electric Williams (Williams are far bigger than bills!), and she like me, doesn't get Pension Credit, so didn't get any cold weather payments, and they were terribly high, so she was feeling really depressed. :(

To cheer her up (I couldn't think of anything else), I gave her 2 Perkies, and they did perk her up (!), and said I'd pay for lunch. Having found 4 Boots branches on the store locator for CW, and only having been to 2, we set off.

The 2 we didn't know about were Cabot Place East, and Cabot Place West, so we went into CP East, and saw some beautiful photo albums £19, reduced to £9.50, on Clearance, but then I spotted a sign saying albums were 2 for one. :j

We both wanted one, I said I'd pay with points, cos I'd got a lot lately from the many GWPs, but when we went to the SA, this is what happened:

    Shop One
2 albums (cost £38) charged me £9.50, less 95p over 60s, £8.55, gave me a GWP from next to the till (?) and - a Perkie! But I paid with points? She said the last customer hadn't wanted either, and had left them - wasn't that great!!! :T

I whipped out the 250 points coupon when we were outside, then went into CP West, but there was nothing to get excited about except 2 wombled Perkies ! We had one each, and Dee was now looking brighter. ;)

Then we saw Beebees, a nice coffee shop, who were doing an egg, bacon and sausage in a roll, with any sort of coffee - £2.50!!

Dee said she'd buy those, and as the albums had worked out, in Boots logic £1.05 for the 2, which seems amazing, I gave Dee an album - us Grandmas always have lots of albums!

Then we went to the SS tills in the next Boots, by Waitrose, having first spotted the No 7 Compacts, listed as £13.20 (London prices), now £6.60, and I picked up 2.

    Shop 2
2 x No 7 Compacts, scanned at £3.30, each less 33p over 60s discount, less Perkie, left 94p to pay for them both! Another treat for Dee.

We then walked to Jubilee Place Boots, opposite M & S, where I saw some Instant Radiance Lotion on Clearance, I think this cost just under £16, so:

    Shop 3
Instant Radiance, reduced to £7.87, less discount, £7.06, added on 250 points from GWP, less Perkie, £2.06 to pay. Or in Boots logic, 44p to take it away!

We went into GBK for our 2 for 1 lunch, with tap water, and had 2 chicken chilli salads, and asked them to leave the dressing off, but poor Dee's was served with dressing already on it. She scraped off what she could, but when the waitress saw she'd left some food, she asked if it was OK, so Dee explained.

Over came the Manager, apologising profusely, asked if we'd like a coffee on ths house, removed our bill and came back with 2 coffees and exactly what I'd paid for the food - £7.85 - refunded! Who said there's no such thing as a free lunch! :T

Then we went to Beckton Clearance, and there was just too much to list.

    Shop 4
I bought DGDs Glitter Babes sets - £10 reduced to £2.50, Dee bought hers some £5 varnish sets, reduced to £1, and we each got a No 7 Nail & Manicure Set, £15, cost £4, and I knew inside there would be - a 250 points voucher!!! So they "cost" £1.50 each.

We made our way by bus to Barking, and as the vouchers in the Nail & Manicure Sets expired this month, we went into Boots and got

    Shop 5
Eye makeup remover, £6.90, less discount £6.21, less Perkie £1.21 to pay.

And then, dragging my suitcase (which I now take out with me!), home we went. Dee had cheered up enormously, and said she would put another cardigan on, and a hat tonight to save on electricity! What a great day. :j :j

So we've decided to do Chelmsford on Saturday!

BTW regarding the post on Refugees - I don't know if I was meant to respond, but all I'll say, in the words of Catherine Tate, is - "Whatever"!

    xx
