Free swimming sessions are today being launched by many councils for people under 16 and over 60 following the launch of the change4life campaign.
Contact your local council to see if they are participating.
Great timing for the Easter Holidays.

DD2 has just heard about this today and is sooo excited. She's planning lots of trips to the local pool in the holidays. I'll have to take her there tomorrow to get her card sorted.0

Agree totally – council swimming pools should be free for everyone or discounted for everyone. I love swimming and it costs a lot over time.
But not young enough or old enough to swim for free???0 -
I just realised, its only free if you're aged 60+
I think the original poster needs to make that clear!
I got my hopes up for nothing  LOL0 -

This isn't as good as it looks. At my local pool they have changed all the criteria for swimmming times and what age can swim at certain times. Basically my 11 year old can only swim 3 - 4 pm week days, 11.30 - 2 sat and 12 - 2 sunday. Unless it happens to be a holiday then goodness only knows when she can swim. She turned up yesterday with a friend at usual time only for us to be told, oh no it is adults only now, as it is holidays, grr.0

In the Freebies Low Spend Board there is a post about free swimming on Mondays at participating pools. You need to take the cap from a bottle of Schwepps Abbey Well Water (40p) with you. My council doesn't do the free swimming thing so I'm doing this instead.
Hope this helps someone. Please remember to thank the OP from the Freebies Low Spend Board as I don't want to take any credit for the finds of others.
As a newbie I can't post links, but if you search getbritainschwimming the website should come up.0 -
