Solihull Council has a link to a downloadable form on the front page of their website. Which has to be taken into the leisure centre from 9th March to obtain a pass, Which can be used from 1st April 2009 until 31st March 2011.0

I heard a few months ago, that in my area only Bristol City Council will provide sessions for both the under 16 and over 60 age groups. North Somerset Council, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire are only giving free sessions to over 60s.
Not sure if this position has changed since, but since I'm in South Gloucestershire my 3 year old won't be able to benefit from this scheme.0 -
Our council say under 16's or over 60's get free swimming from 1 April.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Our council (Slough) have stated that under 16s and over 60s will get free swimming as of 1st April (but they are trying to claim its a council thing and not a government thing..)
However, they tell us that you have to register during March but haven't provided the places or dates you have to register to get your pass yet! I am really looking forward to it - a family of 6 payers will mean that our normal spend will be just under half now if only paying for 2 adults.0 -
my local council are offering it to 60 and over great NOTThanks to all who post0

i spoke to my local borough council and they told me as my local pool is owned by the county council and not them then it probably wasn't going to get funding as they had to allocate the funding to the pools owned by them first.
Great0 -
Trust me to live in a place where our council isn't offering it

A HUGE thank you for this link. I thought there were no kids vouchers about at the moment, & then I saw your link. There are loads, & this should keep us busy for a while0 -
I emailed my local council (sandwell) about this a couple of days ago and they confirmed that swimming for under 16's will be free from april.
I'm really happy about this, i enquired about getting my 2 eldest swimming lessons before and it was around £36 for 10 lessons (don't quote me on that lol) which i think is quite expensive. Their school does not provide swimming lessons until they are in year 5 so at least i can now give them a head start!0 -
