The median of all opinions offered was 3,300.

20% of responders said below 3,000.
    57% of responders said between 3,000 - 3,500
24% of responders said more than 3,500
The above are rounded, hence not totalling exactly 100%.

Thank you all. I shall look for a FTSE of around 3,300 before buying in!
You mean you're actually going to commit money based on less than 100 peoples' (mainly uneducated) random guesses? Please tell me you're joking!

Yes. No problem with that at all. If you read the original post at the start you'd see why. You may prefer some other method, but before mocking this why not see just how far out the non-experts predicited low of 3,300 turns out to be. To date the FTSE has dipped to around 3,500 - so the 'random guesses' are just 6% out. There could well be another dramatic slide that reverses the recent gains and takes the FTSE well down below 3,300, but even if it now falls back again all the way to 3,000 then these 'mainly uneducated' guesses will still be within 10% accuracy. So lets wait till this bear market has run its course and see which so called experts will have come much closer with an actual figure for the low point? So yes, I have invested, I'm comfortable with that, and I'm pleased so far with this approach.
