Thanks for the freezer contents I did it! Have a couple of days to go til March is officially over, but anything from now I'll just take out of April's budget. At least now I can start buying nice stuff again. Thanks for all the advice in the messages....good luck for April everyone.Drop half a stone for January challenge.

hi...hope everyone has had a nice day...its been raining here which is a shame after all the nice weather....i had a couple of bargains in the local coop today....chicken goujons...75p that the kids seemed to enjoy....also pork chops for £1....i think we might have them for lunch tomorrow....it messes up my meal plans finding cheap stuff...i cant resist a bargain:cool:
i made some nice roast pots for tea tonite....pre gc i used to buy these but wouldnt know...i like hm ones and i know what fat is being used and how much
i noticed today the rhubarb i planted in the garden is growing:j i love rhubarb in crumble...cant wait to make one...im not sure when it will be ready....i also have lovely smelling thyme out there...thats about it we arent self sufficient quite yet

Okay well I seriously messed up this month - £224.06 spent. And we ate out a lot as well :eek:
Considering my budget was £140 this is abysmal.
Must do better next month
Edited to say, on a brighter note I was in debenhams today and they had loads of Morphy Richard breadmakers down from £80 to £40 just in case anyone is looking for one.0 -

I did spend more than the £10 I was planning on, but from £120 budget I think I did well!

Declaring March finished at €289.36...will have to make a bigger effort next month as I am fed up beeing just under there must be something I can do to cut costs

DH now totally on board with GC,which is why we have done so well.
But even I got fed up with the £3.28 chicken from Aldis after fifth day in a row-roast for 2 days,stirfry ,noodle soup then blunged soup,interspersed with bread and cheese/cold meat.:rotfl:
Loads of baking done this month-coffee mornigs X2,filling friends cake tins as she is lambing(had free free-range eggs in return).Sick of making Welsh cakes,done about 7 doz.and need more for another fundraiser next w/e:eek:
Well done all,have read most of posts,prices are all creeping(well galloping )up now,so it is getting more scary.
