I've sorted out my shopping inventory from last month (Feb), as this more accurate on a month-to-month basis than March will be.
I hope this is the sort of thing you were after :)

cw18 I am in awe of your organization!! This would work for so many things. Target prices of things, how much to buy when item is on special, what costs me most so I can see where to concentrate on savings. :T As you can see I'm yet another fan who will copy/adapt your system.

Well I have been keeping up with all your posts, but not posting cos I'm not shopping :j :j . Had NSDs on Wed, Thurs and Fri. Sat after work, rugby got +ed and we went to MrA and Aldi. Together with a lunch visit to Iceland for milk, I spent £15.04. Today has been another NSD as will tomorrow with any luck. My month ends on 31st March, and I think I'll be OK :j .

    Just off to update sig.

    Good Evening All,

Reflecting on my earlier post saying I needed bread, so would be spending today.

I have managed a NSD, as Mother-in-law had a spare loaf in her freezer. :) I love having relatives who'll help out, and it's really appreciated, considering we don't have two pennies to rub together until mid week.

Not read all the posts as have been away for 2 weeks hol and haven't yet started with my £300.00 budget which i am hoping fingers crossed i should come well under.
Just wondered when you go away do you adjust your budget accordingly or use usual budget and count your lucky stars that you have a bit extra left at the end of the month.

Off to read all previous posts (i may be sometime)

Another NSD for me, so 5 in a row. And had tea at my Nan’s, so a free meal! :D

Not much left in the budget, but into the last week now, for this month. I have costed out the tiny top up shop for tomorrow on mysupermarket at £4.31, including 4 pints of milk but would be enough in the budget for more milk later in the week if necessary. I find that it does last a week in the fridge anyway.

This month has been a short 4-week month & whatever way I look at it next month will be a 5-week month. So I am not sure whether to up the budget a little to allow for it. On the other hand, I am a bit low on funds until April’s bonus, and I will have a week where DD is at her Dad’s in the Easter hols & I will eat whatever. And despite being near the end of the month there really is loads still in.

Will have to give it some more thought!
  • Hello all, hope the GC have been well for everyone.

I deided to wander up to Iceland today to stock up on this chep quorn everyone keeps mentioning. I got two packs of chicken and a pack of mince. While I was there I also managed to get cheap kitchen rolls (is it just me that's noticed they've shot up in price?) and some fruit and kidney beans to do a chilli.
I then headed to Sainsbury'sto get basics diluting juice (just as good as Robinsons) - found they've stopped selling the 18p bottles, now selling 48p double concentrated stuff. And they were out of blackcurrant. I also got some spices, stock cubes and chocolate for the chili. I know you only need a square... guess I'll just have to eat the rest? Oh well!

Iceland came to £7.25, Sainsbury's to £3.45. £10.70 off the budget, so about £40 to go till the 31st. Fingers crossed!

I bought a pie about 6 months ago for something obscene like 50p and I vowed we'd eat it one day. One day was today. Chicken and Asparagus pie and it was just lovely, even if DS didn't like the green bits and DS' pal wasn't fond of the sauce and DH thought we were having pork

I also made a kind of treacle tart (though it looked nothing like one) and I was the only one to like that too. My diet's doing wonders for my appetite. I'll eat ANYTHING these days :o

Went to M&S today and like a true style miser made everyone pay for their own treats. I got loads of pasta which, if I can just say, is an amazingly low price at M&S. 500g of spaghetti for 37p and 500g of penne for 52p. When has M&S been so cheap?

Anyway, I spent the princely sum of £9.34 and I got a twin pack of mince and some pork sausages too. Oh, not to forget baked beans for 49p.

  • Evening All, Hope everyone's getting on well :)

I think I've started nesting :D. I had a sort/throw/clean and use up session of the contents of the cupboards, fridge and feezer in the week, and had then had the urge to fill every square inch of space right back up with an £82.53 MrT delivery :o . Just trying to be organised  .

Just updated my spreadsheet with spends from the last 11 days (yes, I regularly have a purse full of receipts to contend with all the envelopes other people seem to use :rolleyes2 ), and am quietly impressed.....

I came into this month expecting to be well under budget on 31st, as I'd meal planned right up to (and including) 5th April and had almost everything apart from bread, milk and fresh fruit/veg for the month. This was turned upside down by elder son coming home on Friday for 5 weeks - instead of not being back until 27th and then only for 3 weeks.

So the meal plan has been totally re-worked from last Tuesday (and extended to the end of April), and I've started to pick up some of the bits I need to last us until then. This left me a bit nervous as to where I'd be right now.

But at just about half way through the month I'm still less than half way through my budget, so even with needing milk and bread etc for a third person over the next couple of weeks (not built into my budget), I'm still quietly comfortable I should be under my original (and unchanged) target on 31st :D
