How long to transfer an ISA to A&L from FDirect?

I transfered this years allowance from First Direct to A&L, it was the full £3k. I have also just sent a transfer form to IF.com again to move my money to A&L to get a better rate.
I also confirmed this with A&L and was told i could transfer this years and any previous years just by completing the transfer request form.
