And there's always Orange Weds if you and/or kids have an orange mobile phone.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

I cant believe the price to take the kids to the cinema these days!!!!

I stupidly told the kids I will take them to see Ice Age 3 in the holidays, just looked and it will cost nearly £25.00 just to get in!!! Thats one adult a 6 and a 5 year old! Am I doing something wrong? Are there certain days cheaper or tricks to get cheaper tickets? The last time we went was to see Shrek the Third and I cannot remember it costing that much.

Any advise welcome. I dont mind travelling a bit further than MK to a cheaper cinema!

Saturday mornings 'movies for juniors' are only £1 each. The films aren't the latest but they're good for a morning at the flicks. They do a few games and stuff beforehand too.

Also, "Ice Age 3" is a 3D film, and those cost more to get in than ordinary 2D films.

We only ever go on a tuesday as we simply cannot afford it otherwise, and then only about 3 timesa year.

    Hi Guys,

I've heard recently of burglaries in the Bradwell Area! One was push bikes from the back garden where the burglars went back for more a couple of days later despite the back gate being padlocked. And today I heard about a house being broken into whilst a lady and her children were asleep upstairs, Mobile phones, TV's and all keys were taken!

So just a warning that thieves are about!

*Sigh* I wish; unfortunately, I'm virtually housebound unless my husband is around to help me.

    Pub / Restaurant suggestions please!

I'm after a decent, verging on 'posh' (fnar) pub/restaurant that I can hire either a function room or the entire pub for a big family function (actually it's my civil partnership - hopefully next year). Where would people recommend? I want good food but not overtly pompous food that my down-to-earth family members will turn their noses up at.

    Candidates so far:
    The Carrington Arms - Moulsoe
    Bell Inn - Beachampton
    The Walnut Tree - Blisworth
Navigation Inn - Cosgrove (I understand that the chef here at the moment is a Gordon Ramsey protege)
    Boat Inn - Stoke Bruerne

Before I go off and try an evening meal at all of these to test the food, should I avoid any? Is there one in that list that stands out for you - if so, which one?

Is there anywhere that I've omitted? (The Crooked Billet has been dismissed as being 'too upmarket') - where would you recommend?
