Help daughter being bullied in school

My daughter is 13 and is being bullied in school by a gang of girls. She goes round with two other girls and when they are together all is ok. My problem is one of her mates is off school ill and the other has gone away which leaves my daughter who, totally refuses to go to school as she is on her own and these girls have said in an online convo that she was in, that they were gonna kick her head in, in school because she had done something to them .
I kept her off today and went to see the police who obviously were a waste of time but, I don't know what else to do. Her dad says to keep her off and it will all blow over cus her mates will be back in school next week but, what if they aren't. She can't keep having days off. The school is also useless and will just not accept that there is a problem and she won't change schools.

Your daughter can not rely on her friends always being there for her you can't either
you must speak to the school about this and deal with these bullies face on, show them that you are scared only fuels their actions - I would also suggest that if they threaten her again via online chat/msn thingies that you get a screen print of the threats and inform the school and their parents of their behavour
I know it is a scary time for your daughter and I really do feel for her but she is letting them win0 -
hi
this may not help
but i always told my daughter
go to school, be nice, be polite and if they call you names laugh
and walk away
if they lay a finger on you that is different matter
i can then do something about it
speak to the school so they can watch out

My sons school takes online bullying seriously and when my son had a problem I informed his head of year. She had a word with the bully and told him if there was any other incidents that the school would exclude him and that I was goiing to the police and a hard copy of the emails would be used as evidence
I also had a chat with the parents (i know them casually) but I know that is not always possible
I hope it all gets sorted quickly for your daughter, and understand how upset she must be0 -
Its unfair that your daughter is missing out on her education because of the bullies. Should have gone to the head straight away and nipped this in the bud.:jPrince's number one fan!!!:j

How do you get a screen print. This would be handy.

I have been to the school on numerous occasions and the police also say the same that the school will not involve themselves in things that go on outside of school so unless they do something in school they can't do much. Pretty much turn a blind eye. It is so much worse today than when I was in school. I told her that she had to stand up to them but, when your daughter is standing there crying her eyes out over it I am afraid your heart rules your head and you turn to mush. Money Talks ...but all mine ever says is Goodbye! :rolleyes:0 -
To do a screen sprint, look at your keyboard for the printsceen button, Its usually on the top row right hand side next to the Pause/Break button.
Go to the chat/msn thing and hit the printscreen button.
Open MS paint/Photoshop/Corel etc or other suitable programme and press Ctrl and V to paste the image in.
Also there is usually a facility in MSN to save conversations and out put the content to a text file.0 -
It's horrible that this sort of thing goes on in schools.
Is there maybe a local self defence or kick boxing class she and her friends can join, not to fight the bullies but to give them a bit of self confidence.
In the interim take hard copies of any evidence.
Is there a school councillor she or you can speak to?
Go to the parents association and see about getting a bulling policy clarified.
make an appointment with the head tell them your are not leaving till its sorted. If they are still unhelpful tell them you will contact the school goveners, local council, newspaper; basically make a huge fuss untill they will do whatever you want to get rid of you.
Your kid is as important as any at the school.
DONT LET THEM FOB YOU OFF!That mrs macchicken to you!0 -
Get up to school quick and get it nipped in the bud. My wee brother was so badly beaten up at school that I didnt recognise him when i picked him up. Don't mean to frighten you but girls are b1tches and i think worse than boys.
Screenshot is a great idea ( thanks for showing how to do it DKLS ). The school have got to respond to your complaint.
hugs and good luck

You could also send you child to self defense classes, once you get the better of a bully, they leave you alone - unless he is the tax man.GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0
