Swinstie: [I agree with DozyDee, my outlook has totally changed too, I've thought nothing in the past of going out every lunch-time and spending money, whereas now I'm too busy :catching up on here and am hardly spending a penny! As for moaning about work/health, will never do that again, will just count my blessings am still working and am (kind of healthy), cos you never know the minute and hope we all stay strong and positive x]
Swinstie: :T :T:T You on on the road to a really happy life!0 -
YAY to Laura for all your stars. I must say, you sound like a really wise person.0

Hi all - I was talking to my friend last night about the difference mse and the forums made to our lives... I introduced her a while ago and she is active on one of the disability forums and the wedding forum - she says she has changed her medication, got the best deals on her wedding and so much support and friendship as a result of this place. :A
I must admit I met up with a forum poster a couple of times from the craft thread - it was really nice.:p She may be meeting up with someone too... I know it is discouraged and understandably so from the powers that be on here but it is nice to know that one day some of these virtual friends could become friends in the flesh too!
Glad that you are having a better day blondie - and good luck to all the others on the thread too! I have been invited to an interview today for tomorrow so that has really cheered me up and got rung up about another job too and have been put forward for that - so fingers crossed.:jAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Rosered, you know I actually am finding I enjoy doing/buying things for other people these days, taking my mum for lunch tomorrow for a late Mother's day present and have bought my OH a nice 'sleeveless jumper' (as he calls them) i.e. a tank top and a DVD for our anniversary and have even offered my friend money to get her roofline done (along with mine - we stay across from each other and birds have been trying to get into the roof), cos she's having a hard time with her OH, panic attacks/about to lose his job etc. Good friends should be kept close at all times, I say, even virtual ones!0 -

That is so true about buying things for other people! Its just as much fun as buying for yourself - if not more. I used to be a complete idiot with money. I think I could even give out tips to other people now - I got my mum a bissell vac come wet mop that someone on MSE forum posted about - £10! I gave it to mum and she was thrilled. Oh gosh. i am getting excited about household appliances...0 -

Most of those challenge threads are to be found in the first couple of pages of the DFW forum as they're posted on and get bumped up all the time!

It's weird when that happens, I recently had to buy a new fridge/freezer and I can't help but look at it everytime I go in the kitchen - and no it's got nothing to do with wanting to raid it *sheepishly - well ok it is*. I've also got loads of fridge magnets but don't want to spoil the shiny whiteness of it. Right that's it, I've got too much time on my hands0 -
