  • Lol no I don't mind. The company I work for are employed by Marks and Spencers, who have decided to merge 3 sites into 1. So everybody who works at the 3 sites was given a 90 day consultation thingy - everybody is at risk of losing their job!
Was told yesterday that IF I do keep my job, I will have to work Morning/Afternoon/Night shifts. Boooo *insert chicken leg upside down thumb here*

I'm very in denial about it at the moment - my OH has already been brought down to 4 days a week so if I lose my job and can't get another then we lose our house (we rent, and magically our 6 month contract runs out about the same time my job does). If I think about it too much I start to panic so I spend all my time on here reading about everybody elses panic to calm down lol

I know how you feel (obviously) so dont worry, being on here helps me too. Makes me see sense of things. In order to protect yourself now why not seeing what the job market is like where you live and update your CV just incase? Not saying anything will happen, BUT you will be prepared then IF it did xx

  • I wish i was having a BBQ right now...i have got chicken for dinner though..but nothing as exciting as a bit of burnt sausage. :D

Confession - didnt do the application forms....LOL...

Sparky is here (in the shower) and hes told me hes going to Leeds to work until Monday. He said 'if you dont want me to go i wont, but we need the money to pay the bills'. So im sitting here angry. I know we need the money. Very badly right now. I just feel guilty that if i had a job he wouldnt go. In a very weird way im angry as hes supposed to be trying, and how can he if hes not here!!!!
(he is a self employed contractor and work is very slow at the moment so i also feel guilty as he should take whatever he can get but it doesnt help my feelings...grr)

Anyhoo - I plan a night of watching a film and cooking dinner. I have no idea what to do with myself this weekend. Cannot face sitting in so might have to hijack my sisters house for a while.

One thing i know i WONT be doing is housework!! YAY. cannot be ars@d. :T :T

    Hi all,
    Make mine a G&T please!
Well done on the interview Blondie and sorry to hear about the bike-man, but hopefully the insurance company will keep him off your back now.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

    Greeting Blondie and ladies :)

It sounds like the interview went well Blondie. Re Sparky - Objectively speaking, he is in a no-win situtation - if he works away, he is not spending the time with you that he needs to, but if he doesn't work away, he is not pulling in the money that you both need. That's what I meant a few days ago when I said it would be better for your relationship when you are both working, as the money pressure will ease and you will both be on an equal financial footing. Relationships suffer regardless when one person is unemployed, never mind any existing problems. My OH said to me yesterday "I wish I could be on the farm with you all day". He doesn't realise I have to make dinner with 50p and spend all day juggling bills etc! Bless him.

I have just finished a mega barbecue in the garden - swordfish, salad and big fresh Syrian gambas prawn thingies. (A gift from our fishmonger who knows we are in trouble and has taken it upon himself to stop us from starving to death.) Every month, I think we will not be able to make the rent and bills, because without my salary, we can't make ends meet, but somehow, we are managing (with help from friends). Hope everyone has a nice evening. My younghusband has gone to his mother's. I was going to visit mine but am not feeling well, so will stay here, I think. :)
  • Evening ladies,

Well done Blondie, I'm so happy your interview went well today - i'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you chick.

That sucks about your OH having to go away for work, it must be really hard, especially when your trying to sort out your relationship. Agree with rosered though, hopefully when your both in employment, it will make things easier.

I'm off to a friends Spring BBQ next weekend, i cannot wait as i love BBQ's, especially in the summer when i can spend all night out there drinking vino and eating bbq food - yum-my!!!!

I hope everybody has a nice evening. Mine is very DFW and a night in with Gordon Ramsay and Kitchen nightmares!!! Just something about him, dunno what it is, but i quite like him :D

Hi ladies - doe anyone know how to paste a photgraph into a post? I have a totally excellent kitten picture that will have you AGOG!
  • Very jealous of your yummy Indian Laura - boring dins for me tonight. Trying to persuade OH to go out for dinner tomorrow eve!

Another vote for Malibu and coke, never tried Mlibu and lemonade. I do LOVE vodka and redbull though, thats my drink if out clubbing, if i'm out at a restaurant having a more civilized evening i more a red or white wine kinda gal.

Just made myself a smoothie, strawberry and banana, being healthy!
