Empty loaf bags, what do you use yours for?

My grandmother used to somehow crochet the bags into coathanger covers.0

Are we talking about the waxy ones, or the clear polythene ones? I use the latter for carrying veg peelings and the breadcrusts up to give to my horse, emergency bags for getting rid of used cat-litter, and as sandwich bags. When I was a kid my mum used to put my feet in them, over socks and inside wellies to keep them drier and warmer when I played outside, especially in snow!0

We use ours as a 'glove' when picking up dog poo in the garden!:o0

If you do have to bin them then roll them up lengthways and tie them in knots. They won't be so inclined to blow around the rubbish tip and will be much safer for birds and wild animals as they can't get their heads stuck in them:-D0

Disposable bags for disposable nappies0

Definitely doggy poo bags - no air ventilation holes in them like carriers!!!0

I use these and other small plastic shop bags as rubbish bags in the car - I hate litter strewn footwells... or recycle them at the supermarket collection points.0

thanks everyone! to my shame, despite thinking I am environmentally-friendly, I had no idea you could put these in with the plastic bags for recycling!Overpay!0

Not only do I save bread bags for all the reasons stated before , I also save the cereal bags, they are super for storing veggies in the fridge as they dont sweat in them. Also good for storing cheese in.0

quote -: oh dear. You are burning plastic so are releasing very nasty chemicals into the air
Most of the plastic bottles we throw away go to China to be sorted and if there is no use for them they are burnt. I dont therefore think my one little bag a day is going to do much harm. If they go to landfill they release methane into the air any way so it is the lesser of two evils.0
