When full I seal them up and put into the rubbish bin across the road at the precinct.
Hope you don't get caught - disposing of household waste in litter bins is a criminal offence :eek:Over 25 years ago the cook at my boarding school used to pack our marmalade sandwiches in loaf bags (accompanied by a can of Panda Cola and a bag of Tudor prawn cocktail crisps) before we were taken hiking over the mountains! Kids today don't know they're born...

If I am using the last slices to make my sandwiches, I will use the bag instead of some cling film, but I don't save them as a matter of routine. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

I use mine for DH's packed lunches, then he brings home scrap wood for the fire in them from work. If they are any good after that they get used for dog poop scooping! How's that for recycling?0

I once cut a whole heap into thin strips and crocheted a hat out of bread bags, I am now slightly embarrassedI refuse to enter a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent:rolleyes:0

I mostly use mine as nappy bags - 1 loaf a day, 1 nappy a day, works out really well
I expect when theres no nappies i will use them to put rubbish in. I sometimes use one when cleaning the grill pan to put the old fat in - cold fat I might add!- easier to throw away.
I am a bit funny about wrapping sandwiches in bread bags because when I was a kid, if it was my dad who had made lunch he would make brown bread sardine sandwiches, wrapped in a huge long tesco bread bag (embarassing in itself - tesco in those days was known as a bit of a cheap & nasty shop) while everyone else at school had a nice looking white roll with cheese and ham in it, wrapped in a bit of nice foil. So I tend not to use breadbags for sarnies. Nor do I eat sardine sandwiches. EVER!!''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -
I always recycle mine at Sainsburys.0

Until last week I always bought Warburtons, which comes wrapped in waxed paper. At the end of the week its a bit scruffy so can only go into the recycling bin. However, I have just changed to Tesco bread (not as fresh or soft BUT half the price) which comes in a bag. I had never thought of saving the bags, but this is a great idea. Will defo use them for poo bags - added arm protection too!!!0

Sadly my mum used to use them as "sick bags" for my sister and I when we went on long car journeys, so now the smell of the inside of a bread bag just turns my stomach!
I might try and conquer my fear and use some of the previous suggestions though, and I'll definitely start recycling them at the very least - thanks!!!!0
