Etap Hotel - SOOO Cheap

Stayed in Southampton last night with work.

Booked in to the Etap Hotel, £35 for the room!! not per person, thought it was a promotional rate, but when I asked they said it's the same price all year round apart from a couple of dates.

they have a few over here, loads in Europe.

Will be staying with them again. Clean basic room, nothing too snazzy, but if you just need a bed for the night it's perfect.

lol, you would think so at that price!!!

but no, i dont think it was.

Probably, not everyone's cup of tea .... but to be honest, for £35 is was amazing value for money and why pay an extra £30+ just to have a slightly more glam room??

Stayed in a few in France, and they are cheap but basic. I don't mind them, but they aren't up to my partners standards!
  • I work in Leeds and its cheaper to stay at Etap than to get a taxi home, especially if I share with one of the lads. Its bog standard alright, I think you have to pay extra to get the remote for the TV, but it serves its purpose.
  • They are fine if you simply want a bed for the night :)

My parents have stayed in them when they have been in France. They're basic with no frills, but great if you just want somewhere to wash and sleep.

They've also used another chain which are cheap and basic. I think they are called Formula 1 or similar.
Here I go again on my own....

Travelodge discounted rates for advance booking are around £15 and £26 I believe. I paid £36 for Travelodge London City Airport last year.

Etap, formula 1 hotels in france are a cheap roof over your head, they do the job,
  • i stayed in one in birmingham and it was manky! the bed was a thin layer of foam covered in hair with a stained sheet on top. only one of the two sockets worked and the toilet smelled of hotdogs! lol
