Well I would contact them and explain to them that you can't open it and could they please send the file in another format (e.g. as an RTF file - this will open in WordPad, or as a PDF file - this will open in Acrobat Reader which you may already have, but if not, don't worry its a freebie download). Sending people '.docm' or '.docx' files is a common mistake in business and they should know better.

Otherwise, to view it properly, you need to get a copy of Word 2007 or install the latest version of Open Office.
