The Great ‘What to Sell Where’ Hunt

I want to get rid of a paper based service manual for a Toshiba CRT 28 inch TV - model 2927DB, and IR replacement remote. I attempted to repair it a few months ago but failed.
I paid about £12 + P&P for the service manual and about the same for the IR remote. Obviously I no longer need these items so want to get rid of them.
I also no longer need the IR remote and LCD screen for an Acoustic Solutions 5.1 surround speaker set that I attempted to repair.
I also have various PCI cards, spare fans, and more IDE, SATA, Floppy, Ethernet, USB and Coaxial aerial cable than I know what to do with. I want to sell / donate / get rid of some of these items as its just taking up space.
I have an eBay account and am a member on Freecycle

It's always worth checking out completed ebay listings, there is a chance someone may have tried selling this sort of item before and you can see if it was successful or not.
Alternatively take a shot at listing on ebay next Thursday when 99p starts for private sellers will be free of insertion charges. If it sells at 99p all well and good, if it goes higher then great and if it doesn't sell you haven't wasted any money and can just freecycle the stuff.

Amazon: Books I always sell very quickly: match the lowest price, provide lots of information, smoke-free home, say where sending from and post it quickly. I listed 30 books a weeks ago - 6 have already sold.
Greenmetropolis: Thinner, smaller books as you get a fixed fee.
Play: As with Greenmetropolis but you might make more money.
Ebay: I now use this for selling everything else and if it doesn't shift there I freecycle it.
I will have a look at some of ther others mentioned here though. Good luck sellers!Money can't buy friends, but it can get you a better class of enemy - Spike Milligan.0 -
Hullo,
I vaguely remember, not so many weeks back, getting an e-mail fom Martin with details of a website that would buy piles of CDs for not very much - between say 5-50p. I can't remember the name of the website at all and have now deleted the e-mail, but I DO remember something about typing in the barcode of the CD you want to sell and they then give you a price... Does anyone here remember the name of said site? That seemed a pretty quick & easy way of getting rid of lots of CDs, clearing space and embracing the digital age etc - not the best financial return, but brilliant if you don't have the time to sell every CD you own individually (in my case, that's 800+!)
Any help will be much appreicated!
Thanks,

I've sold quite a bit lately through the free ads in the local paper - someone reads them! (Lately, garden toys).
Also, consider doing a sale at your local school with a % of profits to the PTA (= no sale, no fee although personally if I sold nothing I'd still feel obliged to give the PTA at least a fiver!) You have a captive audience while the parents are waiting to collect, or at parents evenings, etc. Obviously works best if you have kid/family related stuff. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Hello everyone,
I saw about the site BigWardrobe on the wonderful programme "Working Lunch" (BBC2 weekday lunchtimes if you've never seen it!) and wondered if anyone had any experience of it? You can swap clothes or ask for payment and there are no fees at all. There are quite a few listings but not quite in the Ebay league.
I've had a few log in problems but they do mention they are upgrading and there may be problems due to that.
Any views?0 -

I've never yet come across any real suggestions about what to do with old vinyl, much as it broke my heart I had to dump box loads when I cleared my father's house as I couldn't find anyone remotely interested.
Someone did suggets trying Amazon as they do have catalogue listings for some, so it might be worth a try.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
